Not a problem.. the final coats are urethane clear coats same as what are on your vehicles... We use House of Kolor Urethane clears on our custome pieces |

Please take a CLOSE look at a grill before you quote a price. There seems to be a lot of work involved to do it correctly. We don't want another problem with a vendor due to a misunderstanding. |

Very cool Jim ... and you are right, the "typical" goalie mask sure would take more abuse than a Prowler grill ... However, as ED mentioned ... setting one's expectations accurately is important. I had a grill done by Custom Coatings in FL a loooong time ago, and they quit doing them because people "expected" one thing, due to much input from others, and then received something "less" than what they expected. A real shame, though ... as I absolutely LOVE my chrome factory grill that they did. Good Luck with the product! |

Food for thought..... I know a guy locally to me that started doing this type of process a couple of years ago but the finished chrome appearance was nowhere as nice as what I see in your photos. He was doing some automotive under hood parts and found that the process he was doing did not stand up well in that environment. I have no idea which process he was doing or what brand etc... Just some input that may warrant looking into before taking on this type of work. I hope it helps. |

To answer a few questions.... I will quote pricing on an individual basis.. pm, e-mail or phone call The process will hold up no issues The quality of the appearance will depend on the prep.. it is labor intensive for a quality finish. IF the appearance of the part is not smooth and finished then your finish will not look as good... Here is an outline of the process. 1 Inspection of the substrate.. if there are flaws in the fiberglass, metal, plastic.. .they will show up unless they are addressed. It is a time consuming process...cant be done quickly or it will fail.. Again if the starting surface needs more prep.. could involve stripping, metal etching primer, sandblasting etc... |

Saw a whole car and motorcycle done at the Performance Racing Convention in Orlando a couple of months ago and it was awesome and I mean awesome! I have never seen colors as vivid as those. They did a 32 highboy roadster in a two-tone and a large Harley and a Big Foot truck too. The finish is just too good to be true. I spoke with the guy that's selling the equipment and like Jim says, it is a very long tedious process but Oh, so worthwhile. Like Jim said, it's durability is just like a painted car with clear coat. The only thing is that if there is a deep scratch, etc., through the clear coat the whole panel needs to be re-painted. Again, the prep work is the main part of the process as any imperfection will be seen. Wally |

i don't want to be the kill joy but ... i tried and went to a reputable shop with all the right equipment .... and it was amazing for the first 2 months ...I loved it , but ... it just faded away to the original chrome We had the UV clear on it and all the correct stuff but I caution you all ... this is not a process that i would do again without a guarantee ... jmo and experience |
