Check out this video with Jay Leno. It looks as if this would be easy way to do a-arms. http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/segment/restoration-blog/spray-on-chrome/ |

If you guys in SoCal remember the chromed plastic Coke bottle I had, it was done by Gary Watson of Creations n Chrome over 2 years ago. He also chromed the hub caps on my Prowler Go Cart. He is the one featured in the link Vince put up. This message has been edited by Ken & Roslin Romain on 10-30-2010 at 06:31 PM |

Taken into consideration that few Kats ever see rain or other foul weather, this spray on should last a good long time. |

This looks fantastic, and so many applications for our imagination... Very Happy to see the Spectra Chrome is near us in SW. Florida too. Any feedback for under the hood applications? I just wonder about its longevity in high heat applications under the hood, but looks like a great solution for our tie-rods and suspension system. PURRFECT! ------------------ |

It would probably be good for interior parts only and I think Leno eluded to that. But I would think for exterior road use it wouldn't be man enough. If a piece got scratched off you would be screwed unless you can spot apply it. You can scratch the back of a mirror pretty easily so unless the clear coat can save it.......... |

Way to Go Jim! Looking forward to our POA having its own Spectra-Chrome expert, soon to gain direct hands-on experience with this product. I also appreciated the feedback on Ken's Grill done 2 years ago. See U in the Keys, where we can talk about it! Purrfect! ------------------ |

Actually our a-arms are painted and clear coated now. The clearcoat is what protects the finish thats on them. So, If it was the spectra-chrome under the clearcoat I would suspect it would last. |

you wont be able to clearcoat over the sprayon chrome,it will wrinkle the spray on and you will have a real mess. ------------------ |

You can spray over spray on chrome and I have done it - you need to use the right type of paint and good paint costs $ . Vaspar clear is what I used - don't load it up light coat let dry light coat let dry .3 or 4 coats It turned out smooth but not as bright as a bright chrome should be .. |
