Hey, I searched and maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the newest post I came up with are over 6 years old. I'm looking for hobbyist insurance for my prowler. I was on the Heacock site and it looks like no mileage limit but could only use to drive to shows and in parades. Running out to the store to pick up beer... I mean milk, might be out of coverage. I want to save but I want to know I'm covered when it's a nice day outside and I want to enjoy my Prowler. Anyone have a bad experience with a company not covering because car use wasn't limited enough. |

go to barrett-jackson.com-they have the best prices out there,if you have a good driving record, and better coverage than even grundy which i use to have.in the bj website go to ins, fill out a quote form and they will call you.they absolutely have the lowest prices.you will like there price.one thing you need to remember is cos, like bj/grundy do not allow you to take the car shopping.drive less = pay less.if you plan on driving like that, the you need to go with a reg.ins co.not a classic car co.they all have restrictions. ------------------ This message has been edited by catfish on 04-28-2010 at 06:32 PM |

didn't even think of geico. I was thinking more specialty, but I'll try them along with grundy. I was at about $900 w/allstate 3rd vehicle low use, with all sorts of discounts. Under $600 for hagerty. I guess 3-4,000 miles a year, could be less. I want to save but I want to know I'm covered if I decide to go get an ice cream. |

I wanted to use my Prowler without limitations so I went with my regular insurer which is Progressive. With my discounts I pay $575 a year. |

I just got Barret Jackson. $122K coverage for $636/year. Actual cost was cheaper than the online quote by about $100. You will be covered taking it out on a nice day. You will be covered on a long trip, say, driving from Ct. to South Dakota this late August. You will be covered at parades, car shows, and events. Just keep the miles per year reasonably low. They don't have a limit, but don't want you putting 10K on it a year either. |

quote: B/J doesn't ask for your current mileage,,,,so that is a mute point. They just are more concerned that the vehicle(s) is 'not' a daily driver to work. I have my Prowler and Viper insured with B/J > $500 per year total! |

I have B.J. All my fun cars, total $195,000 for $890.00 a year for agreed value. Hagerty wantad $2,300 & I got better coverage with B.J. No milege restrictions, as long as you are going to a car event. You can't use it as a daily driver or to going to the store. They also have unbrella coverage for personal coverage. |

I just went with Barret/Jackson for my prowler with trailer and my viper. They wanted to know the VIN# for the trailer and a separate value for the trailer. The stated value for the prowler at $40000, the trailer at $6000 and the viper at $50000. The annual premium is $469 with zero deductable. |

AC, I keep telling you... stay out of the sun and quit making so many regular visits to the fence and you wont get profiled. |
