I have not ridden a bike in over Twenty Five Years. I will not ride any faster than I am willing to fall and since I am not willing to fall, I don't ride. Took my test in the early Seventies on a Honda CT70 with a semi automatic transmission of all things. I got something with four wheels and stayed there ever since but had given some thought to a real bike, then got the Prowler....Oh well it is just as much fun in my mind anyway. Those bikes remind me of the older BMW's. (Except much cooler and more modern) This message has been edited by alrtg on 09-29-2009 at 06:31 PM |

Well I bought the Prowler for something different but I still have 5 bikes in the garage. I can understand those who don't want to ride a bike but for me it is one of the funnest things I have ever done. Started racing motocross as a kid and have never stopped riding. I hope that I enjoy the Prowler as much as my bikes! |

Only bike I owned was a BSA thumper. After one of my son's had an accident (not fault of his) and broke two arms, the love of my life would not let me buy another bike. I even considered a trike, but the answer was still "No"! She is the boss, but don't let her know that I acknowledge this. As far at alrtg goes, I gave her the key to her Honda as a gift. |

I don't want to convert anyone here but to me there is such a freedom when riding. I see that there is a Prowler event in Pigeon Forge. Have been there many times on the bike and the Dragon and Cherahala Skyway is a blast on the bike. Been to the Biltmore and rode the Blue Ridge Parkway. I would love to do it in the Prowler with all of you. I understand the dangers of riding that is why you take the classes and hohn your skills, wear the proper gear and just ride. I would never encourage someone to ride a bike that was worried or nervous about it. Anyway I am looking forward to meeting all of you in my.....Prowler. Just a new way to have fun for me!! |

I have an '06 Goldwing. Before that I had and 97 or 98 Goldwing and put over 100,000 miles on it. Have about 43,000 on this one and killed one deer so far on it. Hit a deer going 60 MPH in 06 when the bike was only about 7 months old. Didn't go down but did $ 5700 damage to the bike and I had a scratch on my left leg from a broken piece of plastic. When I got it back from the dealer I just missed another deer about 3 blocks from the house. TopKat, I repoed two newer Harleys last week. An 07 and an 08. The guy on the 07 hadn't made a payment in 15 months so I don't think he made very many payments. |

I have a 2000 Goldwing, but have not been riding much last few years. I had a 1983 Goldwing before this one which I put 92000 on. |

Hey "Repo Man".... which Harley Models were they? Can you find out what the lenders expect to get from each one? Thanks. |

Jim, they can expect whatever they want but they go to the big auction and they get whatever the high bidder bids. They picked up the first one the next day to take back. It had just under 10,000 miles. It was a Black "Classic". I will have to look to see what model exactly. Both were credit union loans. The second one was its twin, but had some blue on it. I don't know my Harley models. They had the faring, small windshield, radio, hard trunk and saddle bags, if that helps at all. |

Thanks Ed. I assume the big auction is in the "Cinncy" area. How often are the auctions, do I need a dealer's license, and can you keep me informed on any Harleys you get?? |

Some of the stuff goes to Columbus, OH, some goes locally. Mannheim (sp) has a weekly auction at both locations as well as in Indy. Each bank handles it differently and I am not up to snuff on any of that. I don't pay any attention to any of that end of it. I went to the auction once a couple of years ago and there were at least 100 dealers and motorcycles are hot item tickets. It is hard to steal anything but bikes might be a little cheaper this time of year, like convertibles. I would need to ask about any specifics. I can get the info but again, I don't pay attention to any of that stuff and I am never in the office. |
