Something other than Deadwood (while it was fun) would be nice. That's been done twice already. |

Sirreal had brought up the idea a couple years ago of Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland. Could be a possibility if enough were interested. Lots of activities and country roads in the area. http://www.deepcreek.com/ White water rafting, boating, fishing, off road rentals, Western Maryland Railroad , The national Road(Countrys first interstate road) , and much more! |

A small group is investigating a trip to Nova Scotia. Don't know how big it could grow, but indications are for an international event. Basic plan calls for east coast groups to take the high speed CAT ferry across from Portland, Me, stay someplace in Nova Scotia and tour for 3-4 days around the peninsula, then return by CAT to either Bar Harbor or Portland. Canadians and mid westerners can join us by driving across land bridge. I already have about 10 cars interested. No date has been settled until I find a particular event in NS to join or avoid. Number of cars will have a great impact on deciding lodging and activities. A group like Ed Monahan's Smokey Mtn trip with 100+ cars would probably overpopulate the island! If you're interested, please chime in. If you know the area and would like to help put this together, send a pm. I will be in touch for assistance. This could stay just a regional event or become a major for 2010. Bonnie Carter bgcarter@aol.com 2002 yellow New England Prowler Group |

Would all of us need a pass port for a Nova Scotia event, from the USA?? |

I believe a passport will be required. But if we start planning soon, there will be plenty of time to apply for and receive a passport. |

How's about Flagstff, AZ? Cool summertime temps, Route 66, and within a couple hours of 7 national parks (that I know of - maybe more). Also close to Lake Powell and Las Vegas. |

I will be doing the Nova Scotia event in October 2009 along with New York, Niagara Falls also taking the cat ferry... You will need a Passport and can post up pictures and give some input if you like.. I also have one of the best tour guides in Canada to help me around .. Who knows maybe some prowler people will join in.. I will be posting up our plans soon with times, dates, and places and it would be so cool to see some Prowler Faces... onecatnodog |

Arizona is a little far for some Midwest and East owners, but would definitely be worth the trip. Beautiful country and fun roads to drive! |

Nova Scotia is extremely beautiful. The Cabot Trail on the upper half is one great view after another. On that part of N.S. there is VERY LITTLE as far as accomodations, restaraunts, gas stations, etc. The drive is spectacular. You can go out on a boat to whale watch, etc. Peggy's Cove is also great but it is extremely small and we would definitely overwhelm them but you really need to see it. Very picturesque. There is a lot to see up in that area. We have driven over 3 times and came back on the jet boat once. The drive down the Maine Coast is also spectacular. St. John Newfoundland (maybe St.JohnS) has the largest tide change in the world. Something like 40 feet. There is a jet boat ride you need to take, for sure.

There are lots of nice places to visit here in Nova Scotia but it would be a sin not to go to Cape Breton if folks are going to travel to this area. I've lived here most of my life and like the Cabot Trail in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park the best. some things to consider: Passports will be required to enter Canada. Gas, food and lodging isn't cheap, Nova Scotias biggest attraction is its senic beauty and hospitality. The best weather here is the last week of July and the first two weeks in August. Onecatnodog and friends will visit in October so we are going to travel the Cabot Trail... John is bringing his camera so there will be lots of pictures to share... I suggest you talk about it at the Smokies event and Ed can answer many of your questions about the area... I'm going to call Bonnie soon to discuss the basics and see if this is something that folks will be interested in... This is a place I highly recommend, Nikki and I have stayed here. its central and a great place to use as a home base for cruising... For the golfers it is an amazing world class course rated one of the top courses in North America. |
