I'm selling more beer and liquor, then ever before. Still going strong but I'm sure it will break when we least aspect it. So far so good.

We are slow as well in the Locksmith industry.
No bonus for any of us employee's this year.
The up side is that no bonus was less offensive than the $25.00 gift card from last year.

We are doing enough to keep from letting people, go but not enough to keep the owner happy.
This guy would not be happy if he had more money than the U.S. Mint.

I am living paycheck to paycheck like a lot of us out there but I am happy to have my job, enabling me to keep my home and my Kat.
What more does one need in life? Just the basics.

No raise this year and my part time job is very slow also. Which actually gives me more free time, but for some reason I'm still not getting my home projects done. I'll blame it on all the rain we have been getting.

Sam cool looking 3 wheeler. Can we get free test drives? LOL

What you going to do with all that money?

If I were you I'd start building me a new home down south.

"HOPE" is killing me and many others. No raise, no bonus and an 4% pay cut. "CHANGE" is now in the hands of the future owner of Valvoline since the rumor is Ashland has put us up for sale.

Thanks BHO!

I will survive as I always have a plan "B" and always land on my feet.

...sorta like Meancat, addiction sells

...I own a chain of cigarette stores in Indiana and Ohio and we are setting all time record sales/profits

...Highway 38 Diner is setting all time record sales/profits

...I was totally out of the stock market and jumped back in again several months ago, it's been all good

...all of our commercial properties are full

...I've always been a believer in not taking the banks in as a business partner, we have no loans on anything anywhere, no one to support

...in short, '09 is the best year I have ever had...planning on pulling the plug soon, I've had a job for 47 years and I'm tired of it

Well we have experienced both negatives and positives as a result of the economy. On the down side we had to sell our house for much less than we wanted. Also the company I work for has frozen all salary increases this year.

On the up side, on our new house we intially got 15K in free upgrades and then well after we signed the contact to buidl we received 28K in price redudctions So hopefully when the economy recovers our house chould quickly become worth 35K to 43K more than we paid for it. Also on the positive side we are both still employed. My company did pay me a bonus this year, however it was reduced. Linda did receive a raise, although it came several months later than usual and she also received a bonus.

Bonuses were down a little but nothing to bother me. I also co-own a commercial construction company that is doing alright. We had a lot of people leaving last year thinking (like a lot of blind people) that the real estate industry was going to go on unstopped. The fact that we didn't back fill and have had consistent numbers has made things look pretty decent. Other than that, I worry just the same and plan for as much as I can. Nothing changed there.

I've been in the Reno business for 15 years and this is my best year yet. There are still lots of people with money to spend.

Good luck to all.

Law Enforcement business has been extremely busy. That along with consistent 105 degree days have kept me out of my cars so far this summer!

My Son's work has slowed down in Houston and they did not get their Summer Bonus last week, so he is kinda disappointed.

Sounds like some of you are very lucky....I own a bodyshop in NJ, our buisness is down about 25% this year after 20% last. We held on to our employees as long as we could but had to let them go just after new year. On the positive, still gettiing our salery, paying the bills. no bonuses this year so far, but its a lot better than other shops here!

I was notified Monday that my services will no longer be required on 01Oct09. The reality has not sunk in yet. The house is paid for, and we can scrape by on unemployment, some savings, and my wifes salary, but not for a long period. The thread seems to be either feast or famine.

Lou, sorry to hear that. Start looking for something to tide you over, things will bounce back eventually.
Either that or get Sharon a second job. lol
