Got a Christmas Card from Jim & Sandy Anderson of Erie, PA. I met them many years ago and even sold them my purple battery powered kiddy car.

Sandy said they had sold their Prowler since they had not been driving it and it went to Arizona

Larry and Sue,

If that cat came to Arizona,,,,,,we haven't met any new owners recently with that color of car.

It's funny, I thought when I bought my Prowler, I'd eventually get to know the other Prowler owners here in town. There are at least 7 Prowlers that I know of. They almost never come out, are never seen driving even though there is a huge "cruise night" every Sunday night through the summer(4 to 500 cars at one of the locations is common). I have attempted to contact some other owners with no return calls, and even went up to one guy to introduce myself, he was cold and seemed annoyed I would try to talk to him. I have been in our local cruise and drag race scene for over 20 years, and never met such a reclusive bunch as our local Prowler owners.

So, I don't find it difficult to believe a Prowler has gone into your area without hearing from them, seeing them or having knowledge of them. For as much as Prowlers are stand out attention getting cars, it has been my experience that they are owned by shy reclusive types.

(I did meet one gentleman late in the summer, who was friendly, we exchanged numbers for a cruise next summer)

That is AC, the shy reclusive type!!!

There are some areas where owners tend to be more active. I hope to be back in that active category soon!

In all seriousness,,,,,,I have also found that to be the case locally. Some others,,,,,are down right rude when I've approached them about attending local Prowler events. Makes one wonder

On the other hand,,,,the local Corvette and Viper club people are the rudest, most obnoxious bastads I've ever met!

...I've found the same thing to be true....in our town of less than 20K, there were over a dozen Prowlers at one time, and only 3-4 of us ever attended any events...I finally quit calling the others

Sounds like there are a bunch of owners who are not real car people. Disappointing. I wonder what their motivation for owning a car like this. Just showing off I guess.

Same thing here in Oh. I've seen a few cars in the area, talked to a few, but no real responce to go cruising, except for Rod & Vic, but their 60mi. from me. I guess I'll wait for some Prowler events in 09. I still cruise on my own.

We have a ton of local owners who do stuff but I would bet that it is only about 40 % of the local cars. I have tried to get others involved and they don't want to bother. I figure that is their loss, not ours. We always have a great time and they are missing out on some great friendships and a lot of expertise when it comes to the car.

So what have we learned here?
It is OK to look at my Prowler.
It is NOT OK to drool on it.
It is NOT OK to approach me and don't even think of speaking to me since I am soooo much better than anyone else.

Maybe when we locate one of these self absorbed snobby idiots, we should promptly give them a good hard SMACK on the back of their head. But then again it would be difficult to knock any sense into one of these people.

NEVERMIND.

funny, I was just wondering who bought Jim's car

But here in Indy it is the same, many owners, no one interested in attending or they say, I'm not a computer person.

I have told many about POA and there is a guy that lives about 1/2 mile from me that bought one. He goes to cruise in and when I asked him if he wanted to go to Woodward in 07 which was 3 weeks away, Guess what? he was there.

But I have talked to so many that have never called or emailed me or attended anything I have told them about.

I will say Most Prowler Owners ar truely nice people and I'm very glad I bought it and had the opportunity to meet people from all over the USA, Canada and beyond.

I took mine to a car show here in Indy during the US Nationals and meet a guy out of Canada and he is a non computer guy. We talked for a long time, gave him lots of info, he seems like a nice guy. He did tell me that he was dissappointed in a few POA members for not contacting him when they were doing stuff. I don't know if it was him or just oversight because I know the guy he was referring to and cannot belive he would shun anyone.

Out of the 25 or more Prowler owners most of which are not POA members that I know of here in Conn, their are only 2 that get involved in any Prowler related activities locally or otherwise.

One guy has 6 Prowlers which he drives all the time but has never attended or responded to an invite to cruise.

Another group of five Prowler owners will meet at the Dunkin Donuts almost every Sunday during the summer to discuss the foreign situation & current event's and thats is the only time they drive their Prowlers, I was meeting up with them for awhile (Boring ) but that is all they did, Had coffee, Gabbed & then went their seperate ways this being the only real contact they had.

Their are a few Prowler Owners whose cars I work on, who have never been on a cruise or even know other Prowler owners even though they live in the same area.

Now I know a few Prowler owners from Conn, Mass, Vermont, New Hampshire, who chomp at the bit to get together for any reason anywhere.

The good thing about doing anything is not feeling obigated to doing something your not into doing when your happy doing what your doing.

The Common bond is they all love their Prowler's & thats all they need. JMO

We moved to Buffalo, NY in 2005 and have seen only one Prowler on the road (Canadian plates)...attend car cruises whenever we can and while the car gets a lot of attention there are no others around.
I guess living in an area with a limited driving season discourages the ownership...

Bob, good to see you posting. When we came back from Toronto about 4 years ago, thru Buffalo, we were amazed at the reactions we received. We commented that they must not have any Prowlers in the area from the responses at gas stations, etc.

Ed,
Apparently they do not...everyone here thinks it is a "kit car" and cannot believe Plymouth ever built anything like it. Hope to see you at an event in the near future now that we are settled in and able to get out and do some!
