Is it my imagination, or reality ? why do most of the buyers EXPECT to buy preowned Prowlers, Spare Parts, used Add-on equipment to bid so LOW , and EXPECT such a bargain on said parts. These items are not from HOMEBOY SHOPPING CLUB, or from the back of someones truck. Just you wait and see down the road what you WILL have to pay for some of these items Not to post someones poa name , but 1 individual pm'd me with an INSULT, i would NOT even consider it an offer! Hard Top offer was $ 1500. maybe this is why our cars also dont resell for what they should JMO This message has been edited by RADCAT RICH on 12-16-2008 at 08:47 AM |

ok Rich, since you fronted me out, I will up my offer to two dollars! Seriously though, prices on all collector cars are tanking right now, but that doesn't mean that we should be looking to take advantage of each other. ------------------ |

These things happen in a slumping economy. People belive someone is in financial straights and make offers that may not be up to the sellers expectations. The item is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay, an offer you may refuse may be snapped up in a second by another seller. I believe the same works in reverse, we have several people on this site that buy up certain items, (in their mind cornering the market) then resell them at ridiculous prices, many times at 2 and 3 times what they should be priced at. Again it is a buyers market with the economy in the condition it is. Don't buy from sellers who are obviously buying low and selling high, let them sit on their items for a while and the price will come down, if it doesn't then look at the money you saved. Sometimes the best deal is the one you never make. No one should be upset at someone making an offer, you requested that they do so, respectfully decline and leave it at that. They obviously offered what they thought was a fair price or maybe what they can afford. They shouldn't be condemned publicly for their offer. If someone was in fact desperate for money they would welcome any offer that might save their house or feed their family. I don't know about others here but I think that HOMEBOY SHOPPING CLUB remark you made is offensive, uncalled for, disrespectful, rude, and should be removed from this site! I believe if you are truly insulted by a low offer for a man made object you are way too attached to it. |

when something is offered for sale it is up to the person Selling to set a price. if they choose they may also state "OBO" in which case you should not be insulted by any offer .to low don't sell or come back with a counter offer dj |

Bank stocks down 80% Stock market in general down 50% Housing prices down 10-40% Collector cars (and parts) are generally a very discretionary purchase and one should suspect that the prices of collector cars will be more volatile than other assets. It would not at all surprise me to see average collector cars drop 50-75% in this environment. Obviously with a collection myself, this isn't something I want to see, but it is likely and I have always run my collection with this in mind. |

I just picked up a 1997 purple prowler for $21,000.00 with just 16,000 miles on it. The guy needed money and he was desperate. I'll bet i could sell this prowler for 30 K or more and it is spotless. |

I agree with the previous responses in that you should not be insulted if someone makes an offer, after all they are offering base on what they can afford or feel what is worth to them. You can always decline. |

He said that there was a black 99 at an Enterprise just down the road a couple months back. Since they take incredible care of their rentals via regular maintenance, they get alot of their cars from Enterprise. They wanted $15K for it. He wouldn't buy it. Appearantly it sold cause it ain't there no mo. Some poor sap sure got ripped off. |

I recently took our very low mileage 2005 Dream Cruiser convert to Car Max to see what they would give us for it. They offered 4K less than what the Kelly Blue Book quoted as AVERAGE trade-in for GT Convert. Dream Cruisers are much better equipped than a GT and offer limited production options either not available or optional on the GT. I have to wonder if times are so bad for car sales why are they still asking way above MSRP for a new Challenger. My guess is because if someone has the means and wants it bad enough they will pay that price. Wouldn't the same hold true for a limited production vehicle like the Prowler. |

The economy is why I bought my Prowler. I bought it from a friend to help him out. Hopefully his situation will improve during the next year or two and he will be in a position to buy it back at a pre-determined price in two years. If not I will have the option to keep it or sell it at that time. If I haven't fallen in love with this particular Prowler (fat chance)and choose to sell it, I will undoubtedly look for another or maybe talk my dad out of his Black Tie. Right now I am happy to help out a friend but in two years I may not be so happy to give up the car but that's life. |
