Hi, I am needing to replace the tires on my prowler and have found that the Goodyear ones are on national backorder, in calling around I am getting different answers as to tread patterns matching etc for reg. tires that are not runflats for the car.. can you tell me what kinds ARE matching treads and if you put a non matching tread set did it make a performance differance in your car? thanks Melissa

I recently went to BF Goodrich G-Force Tires:

Size:225/45ZR17 91W Sidewall:BSW MSPN:97329

Size:295/40ZR20 106Y Sidewall:BSW MSPN:59160

Both front and rear treads match. Non-run flats, and a very smooth ride. I bought them at Discount Tire. Tires, mounting, balance, etc., all for a bit over $1100.00 for all four. They look nice and beefy on the Kat.

I have the same G-Force BF Goodrich tires that EdsUp does and I love them also. The ride is day & night compared to the run-flats. Inaddition, the "Wonder Bar" helps too.

Melissa, Go to the top of the page & under post reply you'll find search. Do a search under wonder bar & about 3/4 down the page click on Alley Cat's responce to the Wonder bar. Larry Lord makes them. It replaces the stock stablizer bar for a smoother ride.

no matter what tire you buy,the tread will not match the gy run flats.to get 4 all the same you will have to buy 4 of the same.every tire made has its own unique tread pattern.if youre looking for another brand to match the tread on the gy it wont.the gy runflats have been on b/o for over a year.does anybody know the reason they are not making them.

Not sure what you mean when you say that Discount Tire says they "don't match..." Do you mean they don't match the stock Goodyear tires?

The tread design on the G-Force fronts and backs match each other. I know that some have had a problem getting matching tread designs for front and rear. Not the case with the G-Force tires...

I use Dunlap 9000 on the front and rear and the thread matches. They are not runflats and the ride improved greatly. They also had the orignal sizes too.

Several of us in the "East Coast Posse", including myself have the Kumos. They are a great tire and you can buy a whole set for your Kat for what one Goodyear run flat costs. I have had mine on my car for two years.

tom,the gy runflats have been on b/o for over 2 yrs.go to
tire-easy.com-put in your car and it will bring up a bunch of available run flats and nons.you will have to go thru the complete list.there are 2 or 3 manfu.that make exact size as you have now.txprowlerbabe, exactly what do you want, weve already explained the tread pattern, you keep asking the same question, dont understand what you want.if you cant find matching rrs as described above that means they only make frts w/one tread pattern and the rrs are a ddifferent pattern.you will need to find a manuf.that makes all 4 in the same pattern.try the above web site, they show you the actual pattern with each tire displayed.good luck.also if youre going w/non run flats keep the sensors in the wheel.

That's correct, but after driving with non runflats I would never have run flats on a Prowler again. I kept a plug kit and cheap plug in compressor in the car for over 100K miles and never got stranded but enjoyed the smoother ride all that time. I hope you find what you're looking for.

If I could make a suggestion I'd say go with non runflats. They are cheaper and ride/ perform much better then the runflats.

My logic for non runflats was, I don't drive the car everyday and since day 1 the car never had a flat. It was a no brainer for me

Thanks all for responding,, Discount tire told me they didnt have matching treads,, and told me not to put nono matching on my car,, I DONT CARE about the tread on my tires lol I just need tires and in the middle of a divorce, I cant afford to pay $1200 for tires,, I love my car and anyone that looks at it is looking at the car not the tread on my tires lol anyhow,, did find a very nice man named Bill who bought the remaining parts from Prowlers,, he said dont worry about the tread,, im not going to be driving it over 100 mph so just get the tires I need,, Im thinking he is right,, any feedback on non matching tread? All the tires mentioned, Continental, Falcon, Kuhmo etc until you get the higher dollar ones are all non matching treads is what I am getting from the tire companies,, thanks Melissa
