I ordered a set of lifts from LS Technologies about three weeks ago. Howard (yes "the Howard") and I tried to install them and they wouldn't fit. Ends up, I have the 1 in 10,000 Prowlers that their standard Prowler size lifts would not work. After talking with them, they made me a special size that would fit. Received them today and they fit great! NOW THAT IS WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT!!

David and I tried to put on the hood lifts with no success. I had an idea. I pulled out my welding torch, hooked up my Carbon dioxide + Argon gas tank and lit the torch. The flame was perfect. I approached the red Prowler and was just about to make some very minor adjustments to the hood brackets when I heard a scream. It was David screaming. He said stop, Steve was on the phone.

I waited and turned off the torch, but David and Steve were just talking and talking. I said what the heck. I can fix this. I lit the torch again and thought I would surprise David with just a little hood bracket modification. Just as I was about to touch the flame to the hood bracket I ran out of gas. I thought the tank was full but it was not.

David came running into the garage and said he had a great conversation with Steve. Steve was sending him some replacement hood lifts. David was very happy. He said Steve’s customer service was outstanding. I knew this, as I had purchased hood lifts from him several months ago.

PS It should be noted, with my limited welding skills I might have been able to get the first set of lifts to fit. LOL

Jan - Everything in my life so far has been "too short" but in this case the LST lifts were too long. What I would suggust is next time the AZ Prowlers get together, pop off one of their OEM lifts (takes about 2 seconds) and raise your hood to the max. Attach the rod end of the OEM lift to the attachment point on the body of the prowler and see how it relates to the attachment point on the hood. My prowler would only allow for the size of the OEM lift. The OEM lift's overall length is approx. 9-9/16" long, whereas, LST lift's overall length is approx. 10-1/4" long.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: DON'T LET HOWARD NEAR YOUR CAR WITH HIS WELDING EQUIPMENT!...HE IS NOT CERTIFIED FOR PROWLER MODIFICATIONS! (TRUST ME ON THIS NOTE)* PLUS I HAD TO BUY HIM A CORNED BEEF ON RYE FOR HELPING ME!

BRUCE.....WE CAN GO RACING IN AUGUST WHEN I AM THERE!
SHALL I BRING MORE CANDY?

Too Long - Yes!
From the conversation I had with David, I came to the conclusion that the location of the Ball Studs that are on this particular vehicle, for whatever reason, are not equally the same distance apart, as all the other 10,000 or so Prowlers. I revised the design of the second set of Supports for this Prowler as per our conversation, and (as much as it made no sense at all there being a difference on his vehicle) we came up with a solution. Now, with revised dimensions of the replacements, just going by David's explanation, we managed to produce a pair of New Hood Supports for this vehicle.
