THIS IS SOME FIRESTORM. We stood outside our home as the fire came within 2 to 3 blocks. ( Canyon Country Ca ) It is a true miracle as the winds changed directions and headed another way. As we count our blessings and thank the good lord for sparing our homes, we pray for our neighbors and the brave men and women fighting this seemingly "Endless Battle". We are not in the clear as the strong winds have been so unpredictable. Really put things in perspective when your family and anyone close to you is placed in harms way. It is nice to be able to escape even for a few minutes and talk to friends thru this site. Thanks for the P.M. and concerns. Take care for now. |

Glad to know you and your family are ok! I have three brothers in San Diego and one has had to leave his home near Ramona and the other two live in San Diego. We are hoping the winds change direction to prevent any major losses and so far its been a roller coaster ride.So far the fire has taken 143,000 acres of land and over 600 homes and businesses as of 12:00 AM EST. The News falls short of the coverage here in the Eastern states! So for all the Prowler Owners in S.Cal area our prayers go out to you and your families and stay safe. Regards,Wil Keener in S.W.PA |

quote: After living in the San Diego County for 30 years the rain is a double edge sword. More rain, more vegatation growth, more fierce fires. While living in the beach house in Del Mar and the black mountain fire was happening we were surprised by all the creatures heading for the beach. Anyways, good luck... BTW, a friend lives west of El Cajon and has bought 3 firetrucks. They go for around 3-5K, cheap insurance. |

Will, Glad to hear you are safe. We were watching your area on the news and wondered how you are doing. Glad to hear you are safe for now. And like Gary said, after all this is over comes the worries with flooding and mudslides if we ever do get rain. |

Thank you again for all your concerns. Please lets keep praying that not too many more people loose their homes. Everyone has been so nice to open up their homes, I cannot even imagine what people in the assigned shelter must be feeling knowing that their home did not make it. I pray for them, peace, strength, and hopefully acceptance and understanding. I hope the good Lord shows them the way as it is quiet devastating to loose it all in the fire. God Bless the good people of this great country, as we always manage to be our best during the worst times. Take Care. |

I also lived in the Valencia / Santa Clarita area from 86 - 92. Nearly bought a house in Stevenson Ranch when it was first developed. I still have a few close friends in that area and spoke with them today to see if they were affected. Thank God they are ok. This is really terrible, not only for that area, but all areas affected. It's one thing when there is a fire up in the mountains, but when it is right in the cities, so many people are in danger. My thoughts are with all of those affected. Until those winds die down, this situation can continue to change every minute! God bless those firefighters!!! |

Hi all, thanks for the kind words. Really! I am one of 2 Prowler Owners in Fallbrook, CA. Our area is under a mandatory evacuation. I and about 45,000 people left town yesterday. I'm now in Oceanside, CA about 15 miles away and I took the Prowler with me, out of harms way. The Rice Canyon Fire is what they are calling it here simply because that's where it started. The winds took the flames west to Fallbrook. One Mobile Home park is gone already and many other homes and a lot of acreage. The smoke was all headed in the direction of my house about 5-7 miles away! We understand today that the wind direction has changed a bit northwest instead of due west so we have heard that our specific development is no longer threatened. But we really need the wind to stop soon and that is not expected until Thursday or Friday! If you want more details about this particular fire you can go to http://www.nctimes.com and look for info about Fallbrook. Never had to evacuate before! It's an interesting study as to what you think is really important when you have an hour to pack up! A bit stressful, to say the least!

All is good Toys. I am so saddened by the devastation of these recent events. So many people affected, some more than others to say the least. I hope all continue to pray and support financially or any means possible to those that have lost so much. Someone ask me, If God was so good, how could he let this happen? Why is God an excuse for those people that cannot explain bad situations such as this? There are tragedies and events that take place in our lifetime, sometimes we are directly affected, other times we are watching on the outside as it unfold and destroy others. For those that BELIEVE, it is a test of our faith and to those that don't will proccess the information differently. I am not here to lecture or impose my religious belief, but to show compassion to those that have been affected so much. I did not mean to offend anyone of the mere mention of God. My mention of prayer is my most sincere way of showing support to those victimize by all this, in addition to sending financial support. Whatever belief, we must all come together, at times like this. Take care, and God Bless. |

Hi again, latest status... We were able to go home at about 10PM last night since our area (and our house) was fine. However the North area of Fallbrook is still threatened and evacuated but they expect full containment on Sunday. Wind conditions are calm today and that is helping a lot. Last count we've heard was that about 206 homes were lost in the Fallbrook area alone which included 120 Homes in a Mobil Home Park at the eastern most section of Fallbrook. The total we've heard for all of San Diego County is 1400 Homes lost!
