Marc's wants us to join him at Bandimere on a test and tune night Wed. Aug. the 1st. I have already said I would and will head down after I get off of work at 4:30.... I would like to see some other Prowlers attend for the fun even though it's a school night... I will be sending out the E mails on the event with a mention of Sunday's Aug. 5th cruise to Estes Park and around that era... Thanks, John |

For all of you that fear that Drag racing will tare up your car, here is the truth.. The fastest you will go in a stock Prowler is about 80 MPH in the quarter mile. How many have had there car faster than that! This is done in a controlled environment with no body pulling out from a side street or a officer waiting to ticked you.. Safety Crew is track side if anything happens.. You will run and then shut down with enough time for the car to cool down and then race again... Not like getting stuck in traffic when your trying to get somewhere and your car is under a load for a long time. It takes about 25 sec. to stage wait for the light and run the Quarter Mile... That's It!You will establish a ET that the car runs and use that to come up with a Dial in time.. Dial in time makes it fair for the slower cars to race against the faster cars. The slower cars have the advantage here. For all that show I will be more than happy to help you through this as it's really not that hard... The Prowler Nationals here in June 2008 will have a Bandimere day so some practice to get rid of the jitters and know what to do will help you.. If you have never done it before, IT'S A BLAST! Hope you Prowler Pals can make it, and have fun on a week night. Gates Open 4:00 pm Time Trials 4:30 pm - 9:00pm (Back of lanes close @ 8:45pm pm) Admission |

Reliable Roy just signed on that makes it three so far... Thanks Roy.. How many more have what it takes to hold the gas pedal down to the floor for a 1/4 mile and reach speeds close to 100... Come on I'm calling you out Girly men... Who in Colorado is next... onecatnodog |

Steve from Boulder just signed on that makes it 4.. How many more for test and tune at Bandimere... Ryan should be there in his Challenger and Anne is thinking about bringing her Prowler, hope so. Russell is trying to redo his work schedule to bring his Yellow, and Linda is working on Philip to take his car to the track first time ever, she not afraid to run it wide open as she proved that on Sunday... I'm working on Doris as she has never been, so that makes the potential of 7 cars with others still not have responded yet... Come and Play the Prowler way...  |

Good Question... NO Helmet, our cars are not fast enough... Bring long pants and tennis shoes, NO SHORTS OR SANDALS PLEASE! Can't Grant go and take one of the boys... Perhaps we could meet up with me some ware and one of the boys can ride with onecatnodog. Thanks Russell for changing your work load to go, it will be fun. I'm getting off early to go as I want to be there by 4:00 so I can get in as many runs as I can for my $30.00... Come on you others Lets go racing for fun and get some practice in... |

John, looks like we may finally get some locals to the track. I just got off the phone with Russel and he's ready!!! Let everyone know to pit/meet in the upper pits next to the Budweiser billboard. That's about the 330' mark on the track with a great view of the entire track. I usually plan on getting there by 3:30 to get a spot in the pit. Make everyone aware, before you race you need to go thru tech inspection which is next to the staging lanes. If in doubt meet me at the Bud billboard and I'll hook ya up. Looks to be close to 10 cars going... Any others out there that want to step out of the Girly Man category and show up to RACE. Heck show up for the picture shoot and support the Prowlers...$10.00 to watch and $30.00 to race... Racers! As soon as you get there go to the staging lanes and get you car inspected, fill out the paper work. Staging lanes are located on the hill side of the tower that leads to were the announcers sit and the cars go thru to race... Gates open at 4:00 so go right to the inspection then come up to the upper level parking at half track were the Budwiser sign is. There should be some Prowlers there all ready... We will try to go to the staging lanes as a group so we can race each other.. But some times you will have to race someone not with our group... If you have never raced before there is a few of us that have, and come see us... It's quite easy.. Steve in his silver, Matt in his blue, Roy in his Yellow, Marc in his Purple, and me in my Black have all raced at Bandimere before and we will help you.. We are expecting some new members for the event and not quite sure if they have raced or not. But please take time to make them feel welcome and introduce yourself. As I am trying to grow the club. I have been down to the Springs this Sunday and at Ft. Collins and Brighton on last Monday trying to meet new Prowler People and get there interest so help me please. I will have a sign up sheet so we can track your races so after each run please stop and fill it out were we park up top.. Please were long pants, socks and shoes.. NO HELMETS are required but if you like to bring yours please do so... Be cheep like me and bring water and snacks and maybe a sandwich. Not sure of how many cars will be there along with us but it can get busy, as Wed. night is sponsored by the State Patrol and there trying to keep the Kids from racing on the streets... If things go well and we get organized early we should be able to get in 5 or more runs.. That works out to 6 dollars a run in a Professional setting with all the bells and whistles... Looks to be a little hot today in the 90's and slight chance of rain so I think we should be good to go... Come on out and watch if you don't want to race for the photo shoot... We could set a record at the event.. Don't forget our Sunday cruise up the back way to Boulder leaving from 80th and Wadsworth at the McDonalds at 10:00- 10:30.. Start Your Engines!!! Well we had a great turn out 8 Prowlers and got to meet 2 new members Bob drove from the Springs, and Don and family came down from Evergreen.. That's the good of the day... Here is the bad, we got in a few runs in and we were just starting to get organized and started to race each other and then we all got a free car wash thanks to mother nature... More good news is that Bandimere called the event and SAVE YOUR TICKETS as they are good for half off a test and tune event for one more time the rest of the year... I did get some pictures and a short video and will start a new post for THE REST OF THE SHORT STORY... Thanks To All That Showed Up For The Event.... onecatnodog. I had a blast yesterday and it was great to get a run in against another prowler before the rain delay kicked in. It was also fun to watch Marc go up against the douglas county sheriff's car. (I kind of feel bad at how badly he got beat, the cop that is) Can't wait to see the pics. |
