For those that might have missed my reply to another mudflap bracket topic, I found a fabricator that made a replacement for me. It is the same shape as the original and has the same bend. The only difference is the three studs for the mudflap are welded to the bracket. He charged me $15 a piece, which is better then buying a new fender. I didn't put this in the classifieds as I am doing this as a thank you for all that I have received here. If you are going to Woodward and need one they are $15 and I'll bring them with me. I won't be bringing extras so if you need one pls let me know so I can have the exact amount made. To the folks that pm'd me from the other topic, those brackets will be mailed out tomorrow. tuib and RPL yours are at the top of the list for Woodward delivery. Thanks again Bob Miller for allowing me to use your perfect bracket as a template. |

The mud flap bracket is on the front fenders. It holds the front mud flaps. The front mud flaps help prevent dings and dirt getting thrown down the side of the car. If you back up and get the mud flap caught between the back of a pot hole and the tire, it will pull the fender down. The bracket was not sold separately from D-C. You had to replace the entire fender. This is not a new mod. The cars came with the bracket attached and a lot of dealers went ahead and installed the mud flaps. If you don't have them, you really should get them. |

My question is how do you attatch it to the fender? The one on my left completely broke off so there is no where to attatch the new bracket is there? This message has been edited by 99prowler99 on 07-24-2007 at 08:19 PM |

The bracket has to be bonded back on. I suggest using Marine-Tex. It's a two part epoxy that is available at any boat store. The small box is all you need. You have to sand the area where the old bracket came off and then wipe it with Acetone. Then mix the Marine-Tex together and apply it to the sanded area and lineup the bracket. It should be clamped, using three spring clamps (one on each bolt) for maximum bonding. Let it cure for 24 hrs and you are ready to go. |

I have to cutoff taking any more orders until after Woodward. Everyone that has ordered one here or through PM will be taken care of. The fabricator that I use just took on a huge project and I don't want to overwhelm him. 99prowler99 if you want one let me know. That will be the last order until after Woodward. Jeff |
