Ive had a slow leak in my rear tires lately and could not find where the leak was coming from. After getting to a goodyear dealer, we took the tires off, soaked them, soaped them, inspected them and found nothing wrong with the tires. Just by luck some soap bubbles started to form around the valvestem base. As it turns out, the small gasket between the tire sensor and the rim was getting bad and the gaskets had a very small amouont of deterioration at the interface allowing air to escape. So if anyone else is experienceing this since all our sensors are hitting their age limits, this may save you a new set of tires.
Hope it helps someone out.

NAPA should stock the gaskets. They are supposed to be changed anytime the tire is off the rim but that seldom happens.

I believe the gaskets you speak of are the O-Rings that go around the valve stem. They seal between the inside face of the rim and the top side of the pressure sensor module.

I picked up mine at my local Chrysler dealership.

I have a 99 red. Yes it was the small O- ring gasket that is between the sensor and the rim. It has some breakdown (dry rot??) with a very small crack in it.
