Dear POA Family, I have been diagnosed with rectal-sigmoid cancer, that was caught early, and so long as the post surgery tests confirm this diagnosis the surgery will be the only treatment necessary. April 10th is the date for my surgery at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis. If the CT scan that was performed yesterday comes back clear they will only need to do a surgical resection and anastomosis (sewing the healthy parts of the colon together) of the colon. Please pray that God’s wisdom will dominate and flow through the care givers as they use their God given talents. And that God’s healing power will make the recovery swift and humanly complete. If you have not had a colonoscopy and you are over 50 please don't put it off any longer. The doctor said if I had waited another 8 or 9 months it would have been VERY serious. May God Bless, Scott |

Please keep all of your POA friends informed as we care how things are going for you. I just recently had a colonoscopy and I agree. Go get one done now! It is not nearly as bad as if you don't. You are in our thoughts and prayers as well. |

quote: With what my dad went thru I decided I should have mine done even though I was not 50 yet. Just the thought of it is the worst part, then the cocktail you get to drink the day before, the actual colonoscopy is no big deal, you are out and don't know what is going on. For those putting it off, if you haven't done it do it soon! Scotty, Good news on the scan, now let's get more good news after the operation. Sue and I have been thinking about you and Terry, we hope for the best for you, good luck you are in our thoughts and prays. This message has been edited by WildCat on 03-30-2007 at 11:54 PM |
