I hope that this has never happened, but I had better ask. Since the convertible trunk lid opens opposite from a conventional trunk lid has
anyone ever heard of one opening as they were driving at a high rate of speed. I can only imagine the type of damage that could be done if the wind ever caught a loose lid at a high rate of speed.

...friend of mine had one come up on the highway....he didn't latch it properly when he left home and didn't hear the warning chime.....about the time it started to come up, he realized it was unlatched and slammed on the brakes.....it did bend both trunk hinges, but he was lucky, that was it.....he straightened them out with a 2X4 and all was well again....

had the same thing happen the first week I had the car, half way out of the driveway it came up and trashed both hinges, at a minimal cost of 100.00 a peice. Now i always double check by pulling up on the lid after I close it.

I had the hood come up on my '76 Camaro one time.

Luckly, I was just leaving the house and getting out on the main road gettin ready to GET INTO to it about 25 mph.

Man was I lucky because I had snake curves coming up.
