Once again Prowler Online has saved the day.

I've worked on cars for 49 years so changing an air filter can't be that hard, right. WRONG.

So I jump into it and am sure I can figure it out by myself, but no way. So I just pop into my office which is right off the garage and search for "Change Air Filter".

First of all I quickly discover that it is not that easy a job and then several messages tell me exactly how to do this miserable job.

Now I won't say it made it easy but it does make it doable. Maybe 45 minutes total without putting it up on a hoist. I did jack up the side and take the side panel off.

Again the site was right that getting it all back together was harder than taking it off but I enlisted a little help from the wife to hold the light and was able to get it in place with an extra long set of needle nose pliers.

One more time this absolutely wonderful website has saved the day. What a great bunch of owners.

Thanks again!!!!!!

Took the Dealership in Brenham an hour the first time, that was with the Oil Change Tech and after the first 45 minutes, the Prowler Tech came in to help!

It was their first one, and they were great about it, they even let me help take the side panel off cause I was so afraid they were going to scratch it!

Thanks.

Yes MDProwler, I did use a K&N Filter. That had been strongly recommended on this site.

And bjprowler, if you did speak to wife you would have indeed told you she at least supervised the whole project. Is'nt it amazing how they may have never done a certain project in their whole life but as soon as you start something they know exactly how to do it, and your way is wrong. This is a guaranteed fact of of life. Gotta love them!!!

I had a difficult time changing my air filter when I bought the car. I drove the car up on ramps. Was able to open the filter box, but getting it closed was near impossible. What I ended up doing was un-clamping the filter box cover from its breathing hose. It was easy to re-clamp the box cover to the box after that. Then re-connecting the breather hose was simple. Just a suggestion for anyone else who is having trouble with a filter change.

P.S. Glad I did it first thing when I got the car back from my long drive from Atlanta, where I purchased it. I have never seen a more dirty filter. Plus a lot of leaves and bugs fell out of the box also. What a mess!
