Hello Fellow prowlers. I have not been on the site for a while. I thought I would drop a not and let everyone know what is up... So let’s see what is wrong… First to my General practitioner he has been my doctor for 18 years. Took one look at me said yep you do not look good. few thousand dollars of test and it was determined it may be in my lungs. So off to the pulmonary group. More test and I have good lungs and no clots….. Oh thank and God I purchased the money trees from the door to door salesman years ago. Now let’s spend big bucks. I am now sent to a cardiologist. He runs a few test and says yes you have a few partial blocked arteries.. No big deal we do this everyday so off to the Hospital for a quick tune up and two days off my feel. ,, Oh no someone told them I had a money tree. So let’s go for broke. They tell me while lying on my back under one of the big machines that I need to have by-pass,, now, Two bad one 90 and the other 70. That was last Monday… It is now Tuesday evening one week later.. All good now, back on the road to recovery.. I now have a new appreciation of stress management and better diet. Back at home and feeling well enough to tell my prowler buddies. More later that is all I can do now. I will touch back in a few days… All take care.

Jim, A speedy recovery to you! Did they have to crack your sternum open or did they do the new micro by-pass by going thru the ribs? |

Gosh you guys are falling apart! Seriously, glad your both doing good. I'm going in April to have what's called a 64 slice CT test. The first 100 were free and I'm #99. They check your whole chest cavity and you have to have been a smoker at some time to be able to get in for free. There is another one going on for the heart that I want to get done also. My father -in-law had it done last week and they found calcium deposits on his heart. They didn't waste any time; he is in today for surgery to find out if he needs stents. |

This getting old is no fun! As a result of my surgery for prostate cancer, I now know that my heart and lungs are okay, but now I have blood chemistry problems. Everytime I go to the Doctor's they find something else to work on! Glad you are feeling better Jim. I am gonna take a new approach and just go for blissful ignorance and cancel my Doctor appointments.... |

Hello again Things are going better here these days. Feeling like walking and getting out of here... Went outside yesterday but that was a bad ideal. I made it about 50 feet before I had to sneeze. Believe me that is the last thing you want to so after the break your chest in half. The pollen here is so bad the Aviator if yellow/green. So I will not be going out again until it rains.. Other than that all is going as expected. I hope to be up to speed for the Talsarama.... I appreciate the nice words from everyone. Hope to see all soon. Jim & Lori |

Jim I have been there and feel your pain. Did the hospital give you a big red heart shaped pillow? Keep it close by. If they didn't, keep a big pillow close by ( I walked with my heart shaped pillow for a while. I may have looked funny, but I didn't care). When you feel like you are about to sneeze or cough, grab it and hold it tightly against your chest with both arms. By compressing your chest in this way, you are reducing the trauma caused by a sneeze or a cough. It also helps to prevent the reopening of the healing wound. Take it slow.
