I need some more info. please. I just bought a trailer & have to tow it to Oh. from Ill. Can I tow a prowler trailer with a Ford Explorer, or is the hitch to high on the Explorer. Also I need info. on buying a trailer bra. Thanks again for any info.  |

Richard Jackson picked up a trailer in Louisville and drove it home. He had a rental SUV or a a loaner. It was a terrible trip home, going about 45 was top speed due to the aerodynamics. We came home the back way to avoid the interstate. You may not have the same problem and I don't recall exactly what type of vehicle we were in, but it was pretty bad and that is only 100 miles. Try to borrow a trailer bra if you cannot find one to buy quickly enough. DON'T tow it without the bra or you will probably have small holes in the trailer. I drove all the way from Canada to Illinois with one behind my 40' motor coach. It was funny looking and i kept looking in the rear camara to make sure it was there. |

Thanks for chiming in Ed. I was hoping to here from you when I posted this, but I thought you would still be in bed. If anyone has a trailer bra for sale, let me know. Do you think I can get one from the Prowler store by Saturday.I'm really concerned about towing it with the Explorer from Ill. to Oh. What do you guys think? |

Mac, if there is anyone close with a Prowler trailer, try to borrow it and take it on the X-way for a mile or two and see how it tracks. Fissumm's motorhome may have been blocking the airflow or maybe it was just a bad set up with this particular SUV that Richard used. I surely don't know the answer. Anyone from near the area of your new trailer have an Explorer that they could go try it out on your trailer? |

I towed a trailer from Detroit back to Illinois with an F150 4x4. I used a 6" drop draw bar to get the trailer fairly level and had no problems running 75 on the way. I did hit one section of washboard road in Michigan that got the trailer bouncing, just had to slow down a little. |

I picked up both my trailers with my dodge Ram 1500 with no problems, just make it a straight shot, backing it up is not an option. Toys |

I too have pulled a Prowler Trailer behind a F-150 and had no problems. I also used a drop draw bar to get the Trailer Tongue as close as possible to parallel to the ground. It towed perfectly. And Galaxie, my suggestion would be to cut up a light weight Blanket and duct tape it to the Trailer and Trailer Fenders to tow it home....it is a REAL JOB to get a Prowler Bra installed. And after it is initially installed, it needs to sit in the Sun to "stretch out" and then should be readjusted. The Bra is held to the Trailer with one sided sticky tape vel-cro strips that have to be cut to fit and then stuck on the Trailer. The rest is held on with hooks. It really is a difficult job to get a Bra to fit properly...at least it was for me. Good Luck anyway and congrats on the Trailer purchase! |

I pulled mine from wisconsin to new york in november, using my explorer sport track with a drop down hitch, the explorer harness is compatable with the Prowler trailer. |

I picked my trailer up in RI and pulled it with my SSR with the factory hitch to MD. It worked great, but the Prowler purple was a little different than the purple on my SSR. Looked right at home behind the SSR. |

Galaxie; Good job picking up a good buy on a trailer  I have been trying but hard to pick up a yellow one. I have a question will a prowler trailer fit in the back of pickup truck? Any one out there wanting sell a Yellow trailer?????????????????????????????? Thanks Rod |

When Ed and I towed my Prowler trailer with a Trailblazer, the tongue was tilted up at 15 degrees or so to meet the truck, a mistake and probably why the wind got under it and caused such a bad towing situation. If the tongue was level, it probably would have been a no brainer. |

I store my Prowler trailers at our cottage garage for the winter and we tow them with Bob's Durango. No problem. We have different hitches for different applications (boats, car trailer, etc.) |

Got a drop down hitch today,6". According to you guys, should do the job pulling the trailer with the explorer. Since this 2001 trailer is new (hasn't been on the road) is there anything I should do before towing it? Again, thanks for all the help. Rod, hang in there,something will come up. Takes time to get what you want. |

Mac, I know you don't want to hear this but the grease in the axles might need a quick check. If the thing has been sitting no telling how the grease is doing. It is probably all right but you never know. |
