Okay, okay. I lost my mind on this year's group purchase. Maisto pushed me over the edge. Yeah, I was standing on it, but they pushed. I've slept on the problem for a couple of days, something that I should have done in the first place. I've read all of the posts. Here's what I'm going to do. The yellow and purple orders will remain open until February first. The price is as stated, $62 delivered in the lower 48 states and $48 either picked up from my house or $48 plus actual shipping to anywhere else. I will not solicite orders for red at this time. Its purple or yellow or wait. I have been planning to make one purchase per year rotating through the colors as they were offered. I will keep a seperate running list of all that expressed an interest in orange. When we get near the 209 case minimum, I'll will contact everyone to verify that they are still interested. I will also confirm the pricing. Today, pricing would be $66.50 per case delivered to the lower 48 states and $52.50 picked up from my house or $52.50 plus actual shipping anywhere else. I will edit my post with the master list and establish a new post offering the orange cars along with a running list. I will contact everyone to comfirm their intentions toward this purchase of purple and yellow asking if they want to wait for the orange, cancel or switch all or part of their orange order to another color. I have no idea how long that we will need to hold the order open for orange but for now it will be an open date. |

Thanks Bob, I think you have made the best choice. I will keep my order of 1 Purple and 1 Yellow. Put me on Orange list for 1 and I'll most likely add to it as we get closer to 209 total. Thanks for all the hard work. I'm sure it has been a pain this time. Gary |

I added to my work load by not sticking with the original plan. I'm sure that I added some unneeded confusion which I will correct today. Thank you everyone for understanding. I just can't believe how difficult Maisto is to deal with. |

First thanks for all your hard work and effort. I think we should all e-mail Maisto and view our feelings concerning their non-business ethics and tell them what they can do with their cars. Their product isn't anything to brag about anyhow, pretty cheesy cars. About all they are good for is giving to kids to play with. Matchbox cars and cards are 50 times better. We should all boycott theit products and never purchase anything from them again. Just my feelings! I committed to a case of purple and will honor that commitment, but I will never purchase anything they produce again! |

I appreciate the thoughts but it would be a waste of time. We spent real money with them. My vendor spends a ton every year. And, they don't care. |

Bob, Hollie from Mattel/Hotwheels emailed me today about our Dodge Charger Police Car and she confirmed that they want to go forward on that project! She said she will call me Monday morning, and while I have her ear, I am going to take the liberty to ask about the Orange Prowlers they are already producing and see if there is anywhere to go there. I will keep you posted if that is a viable route. They have told us that they are planning to give the Sheriff's Office "several dozen" Matchbox Dodge Chargers with our graphics for allowing them to copy our vehicle, so maybe she might be a foot in the door for us? |

Ask her about any color 1:64 scale Prowler packaged in a manner suitable to how our owners are using them. Let her know that the club has a license covering the trademarks and logo for use with club members and activities. That makes a big difference with Maisto. |

I sure will, Then if it looks promising, I will get you two together to work out final details!!! I just hope that this will lead to the right contact person to give us an alternative to Maisto. If we have two choices, maybe one will be more willing to deal with us? We are going to want to buy a few cases of the Charger models too, so being that she made the offer to do that, it will work with the Prowler models too. |

The only difference I have found with the Matchbox cars vs others is that the Orange is not the proper Orange and the wheels are not the Prowler wheel. Not really a big deal for give outs though. That said I'm all for any way we can get the cars. |

I talked to Hollie from Mattel today. We are going forward with the Dodge Charger Police Car project using our car as the model for the 2008 HotWheel ! We are waiting on the Letter of Agreement for use of our graphics before they can do the production sample. She did say that she was going to put me in charge with the correct person in marketing to work out case lot purchase details for the Sheriff's Office to buy some, and was then asked about the Prowler. They will keep the Prowler in their 2008 lineup, and can only offer that model to us when they are in that phase of production, as they run certain cars at different cycles. She will talk to those involved and get back with me with some details. She was very interested with the fact that we have the agreements with DC, so let's see if this opens a door here. |
