I got a call from a local Prowler owner Vjar Tucker the other night. He was hit on I-285 and his 99 Red was totaled. He did not get hurt. He has a couple he is looking at right now to replace it. One other interesting fact is it had less than 10,000 miles on it. I wonder if Prowlers are setting a record for number of low mileage cars of a single model being totaled.

Glad he's alright. It appears that a wreck at any speed just about totals these. I received an email yesterday (As I'm sure you did) about a 2000 red with 7900 miles in Marietta for sale. If you didn't get this let me know and I'll forward it.

Has anyone that had their car totaled by the insurance company bought the car back and what did they pay for it?

I received the same email and am going to call Vjar tonight and tell him. He is also looking at one in NC. It appears that any damage to the aluminum frame is a death sentence.

The one wrecked is a 99, the one for sale is listed as a 2000. Probably not the same car.

What a shame, but thank goodness you are okay. There are always cars around to find. Good luck with your search!

The Prowler makes you smile. Why? Because it's focused. It has a plot, a reason for being, a passion. It evokes the hot rod. It evokes the American Dream. This car is the human psyche.

The 2000 I mentioned is not wreck (I assume) as it is at a car dealership. Sorry if my message was confusing....

That was in Duluth, GA at the Sugarloaf development. All million dollar homes and it's where they hold the Atlanta Classic each Spring. Wait till the names of the customers start leaking out.

Larry,

My 01 Silver was totaled about year and a half ago. Hard hit behind drivers door. Broke frame, knocked the left rear wheel off with transmission and frame parts still attached. The good part is I made it thru without any permanent injuries.
Insurance company offered it to me for about $13,000. I couldn't afford to keep that much money tied up, so had to let it go.. Besides, that was too much $$.. In a few years, we would probably jump at the chance to buy a wrecked one for that.

Sorry to hear about another/your Kat being totaled. It appears to me that these felines don't have nine lives.

Does anyone have the total number of Kats that have been totaled?
If they keep falling along the wayside I'll be/am kicking myself if I sell my Woodward.

Rick

Someone IS keeping count of the lost kats, but for whatever reason is keeping the info to themselves.

Hey Brad, did they ever catch the "moron" that nailed your previous Kat, then fled the scene?
