I will be emailing everyone that expressed an interest in this year's group purchase. I'm going to need some addresses and everyone's home phone number for the FedEx shipments. I will ask for your email address if I don't have it to lighten the load of PM's. Also, if you purchased last year and your address changed, please let me know. Dealing with Maisto has never been fun. I was given their pricing and order requirements for this purchase. Despite their huge price increase, they have come back and said that they will only sticker the cards as they did last year. Additionally, they wanted another $.05 per car for the orange cars plus a minimum order of 15,000 (209 cases). With anyone else once you've made a deal, its a deal. This isn't the case with Maisto nor the Chinese. Its just a place to start negotiating. I told them that there was no way that I could pay an extra $.05 per car. I also advised them that I didn't think that I could gather orders for 15,000 orange cars. I told them that we had the original 5,000 orders in hand and are keeping ordering open until mid-February. As of today, we have just over half the number of purple cases that we need and have the original 5,000 minimum covered for yellow and orange. I will continue to accept orders for all colors but hope that orange and purple orders increase. I have the list of people that ordered last year that haven't spoken up yet this year that I can contact after the holidays. All that I can do is continue to renegotiate with Maisto, collect orders and keep everyone advised. I keep hoping that each with each new order Maisto will improve but they continue to let us down, sorry. |
