60 Minutes had a report tonight about a Hazelton Pa. Mayor making laws to prevent illegal aliens from seeking housing and jobs in Hazelton. More importantly... A Yellow Prowler was in the parade behind the Mayor. Anybody we know...? |

I seen that also,,,,,yellow Prowler,,,,was in several scenes from the parade footage. Also,,,,the Mayor of Hazelton, Pa. is a stand up guy. I know first hand how the illegal aliens can take over your home town and run it right into the ground

A/C surely you must realize that you can not blame all that on just illegal aliens. I understand that it is a problem but c'mon even all white communities suffer from those same problems you mentioned. Guess its just easier to blame someone else for ones own problems. Throughout this country's history its always been the Indians,Blacks,Chinese,Irish etc. Maybe YOUR the problem.  |

R/G - I can't speak for Waterford,Mi.,,,,but in my neighborhood,,,,the homes were kept up in good condition until the illegal aliens showed up with their filthy living habits, multiple families living in one house like mice, crime rates soared, gangs trying to take over the streets, taggers painting your property,,, etc...... I don't ever remembering there being a problem with teaching the all white communities, or mixed communities,,,,,HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH either. I'm sure you are the problem starting the fire,,,not I. I guess you seen that 60 Minutes segment as seeing a yellow Prowler in the film footage? I seen it as a severe problem hurting this country from moving forward,,,,, due to all the law breakers entering across our borders! |

Larry, up here they substitute "Illegal Aliens" for "African Americans" etc. With all the same social ills you mention.(+Ebonics) So it has to be something more. We as a country cannot continue to blame any one group but must instead address the larger issues affecting everyone. Which means enforcing laws for everyone,,,, and not just singling out the "Smokers" etc. Maybe instead of spending $300 billion on the Iraqi occupation, the money could be better used on the American people. |

Hmm. Comparing African Americans to Illegal Aliens? Last time I checked, it wasn't against the law to be an African AMERICAN. It IS against the law to be an ILLEGAL Alien living in the US, though. What kind of twisted logic are you spewing? If all of the people crossing our borders were here legally,paid taxes, and contributed to Social Security, there would not be a problem. The issue is that they are here illegally, working under the table, and taking advantage of Government services to which they are not entitled. Feral, I do not dis-agree. they are here illegally. But to say if they were legally,Pay Taxes,Social Security that all our problems would be solved, is B.S. Yes, we need to enforce our immigration laws. We need to impose huge fines for people and companies who hire illegals. But thats not going to end the burden of the taxpayers. Not when we have 40 million Americans without health care benefits. 4 times as many than the illegals and we already know that the largest group of people on welfare happen to be white. Who do you think is paying for them? Who do we blame now? Me, I'll just blame the "Smokers" spewers of second hand smoke. Lawnboy, Have you been to Detroit lately? Nuclear bomb may actually help. Aliens are taking over Hollywood. There is also evidence that the amount of Aliens in professional sports is increasing at an alarming rate... But then again.. this only makes sense! Think about it, by putting themselves in the spotlight, where they have extreme amounts of money, power, and influence, they can gradually integrate into our society and take it over. I know this is hard to comprehend, but please try. There are many signs that one is an alien. One such sign is they are generally thin (unless they go through plastic/reconstructive surgery). The reason for this.. is that Aliens are highly sophisticated and efficient organisms, infact.. they don't eat food! From living millions of years in outter space, they've evolved the ability to photosynthesize (like plants, but much much more advanced). Their unique form of photosynthesis doesn't require carbon dioxide, they use only UV radiation and PAHs(Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons(C24 H12)). IT's obvious that the aliens are slowly reshaping our atmosphere. Ever heard of global warming? Yeah, its true.. and its proof of alien life. The technological revolution that's occurred in the past 200 years is a coincidence you say? We went from donkeys and sticks to nanotechnology in a millennia?.. wrong! It's coincided directly with the arrival of alien life forms. The machines that have been produced were designed to slowly and inconspicuously turn our environment into one more suitable for alien life forms. The Prowler's we drive, the power plants, and nearly all machines produce PAH's and other chemicals that eat away our atmosphere and allow more UV radiation to reach the aliens. I could go on and on, but why. So shut our border, close our air space, no one comes in and no one goes out. Deal with our problems at home, then with the problems of others. No more of, we will let them in for diplomatic reasons but not economic ones. I hope all the Cubans move to Miami (that's were I am from - but I am Irish), because once they do I am moving to Cuba. Do you have any idea how beautiful it is there. Once I am there and I clean the place up and won't let them back. Most likely someone in your family came here looking for a better future for them selves and their family, call them immigrants or aliens we must find a way for it to work for man kind. |

SERIB beat me to the post! I wanted to watch 60 minutes to see the segment on 'Old Broadway Joe' (my fovorite Q-back) when low and behold I see the yellow Kat. I almost jumped out of my chair screaming to the wife "a Prowler a Prowler" ; very exciting. A/C, I agree with you 100%. Illegal means ILLEGAL! If you want into this great country follow the laws which permit you to do so!! If not, hit the road back to where ever you came from! |

It's gotten so bad that the legislature has passed a law that illegal's can no longer collect welfare but they're still swamping the hospital's (walk in Doc's offices) and schools thanks to federal laws. |

Tell you what, Heynow. Try attending a PTA meeting at your child's school that takes twice as long because we have to say everything in English and then in Spanish. At the end of the meeting, a Social Worker stands up and informs the Spanish speaking of all the benefits they can receive for their child and their family, rather or not they are here legally. (And, yes, they actually talk about how they don't have to be legal citizens). Then, go see your child's teacher and talk to her about the frustration she faces because she has four kids in her class that speak no English at all. And, because of the bizarre school laws here, the classes must be integrated, so they can't have a Spanish-speaking class and an English-speaking class. Everybody has to be together, which slows down the speed of the class to match the pace of the kids that can't communicate. (I now send my son to private school just to get a basic education). Unless you live amongst a high percentage of illegal aliens, you should probably stick to talking about smokers or whatever your issue is in Michigan. Your opinion would change drastically if you lived in a border state. And, I absolutely agree that there should be huge fines for companies that knowingly hire non-residents who don't possess a work visa. Problem is, fake documents are a cottage industry down here and it's impossible to tell a good counterfeit green card from the real thing. And, yes, if all of the illegal aliens were paying into the system, it would eliminate most of the money problem. You're talking about hundreds of thousands of people all being supported by our tax dollars. And, everyone else, you're absolutely right. They do deserve the opportunity to better their lives. Just as long as they do it legally, like our ancestors did. In the meantime, the absolute answer is to improve the strength of our borders. heynow14 Two points to make. You will have to do better than 1993 data to convince me this is true. 13 year old data doesn't do it. The study needs to include all family members that are receiving welfare assistance, not just by race of the parent/s. Try Again. I don't live in a border state, but we have a major problem in NC with illegals. My son broke his arm playing soccer and when we were at the emergency room at a major hospital here the lady attendant told me that we were the only people she had attended to that had health care. In 3 hours everyone else she had seen were using the emergency room as primary care for colds, ear infections, etc. All free to them! A local hispanic radio station advised illegals to call EMS for transportation to the hospital even if they had a car because EMS couldn't refuse them. My son started high school this year and upon reviewing the paperwork I noticed that children of parents (like all kids - I thought) serving in the armed forces must meet certain criteria for subsidized school lunches, but at a lower level. I thought this was great, until I saw that children of parents who did not have legal status or do not use English as their primary language should call a # and someone would visit them in person, fill out the necessary paperwork and they had NO INCOME CRITERIA TO MEET for subsidized school meals. I thought I had just misunderstood the info and called a school board member. She said that this had to be incorrect and that she would check. The next day she called me and stated that she was ashamed to admit that my interpretation was right. So get this - A mother of a child whose huband/father is putting his life on the line in Iraq must go to the school, get the paperwork, fill it out, attach proof of income and fit the criteria for assistance. A illegal can call, someone will come to their residence, complete the paperwork for them, and if they do not have proof of income (paid in cash or lie) their kids get free meals!
