Oh Man.... Someone should have been warned you before you purchased your kitty... Aside for the '97 Purple, (& not by far) Yellow Kats were the slowest model produced out of all the color choices out there. The CAAP Plant Craftsmen & women would save all of the defective & slower parts in bins & at the end of every year they would do a run of yellow kats just to get rid of the parts. That's why there are so many of them & made every year. You probably didn't get a Prowler CD in yours, did you?

Go to IDA Automotive in NJ Butchee had to have a twin turbo put into his yellow...

XTC: I go to the truck nationals at Bandimere every year with my Lil Red Express and some of those diesels are running in the high 12's and there 4 wheel drive and 4 door to boot. My Lil Red runs low 15's and they half to give me a few lights and that makes it a fair race. Even with a TURBO on your car you just don't have the cubes to make it fair. Try a stroker motor and N.O.S. that should make it a fair race and put you into the 12's at this altitude that's the way to beat a souped up truck. I don't race on the street any more as years ago I lost my lic. for a year and learned a lesson. 5 years of sky high insurance and had to be chauffeured around for a year, with toys just waiting to be driven...P.S. any news on my white Prowler hats?

Turbo diesels are so easy to modify its insane. Just adding a chip can easily add 100 hp/200 lb-ft tq.

Usually above 100-120 they run out of steam. Can't change physics or coefficient of drag.

I'll agree with that. Maybe Bob Goetz will take an offer for the stroker motor in my car that he bought!

Just to clarify WildBill ... yellow's were NOT made in the 2001 model year at all, Plymouth's nor Chryslers ... and yellows were actually eclipsed in production by purple, red, silver (the primer color), black AND Mulholland ... And by the way, yellow was referred to as THE hot rod color for Prowler by more than two articles ... just an FYI.

I had a 2000 Ford 7.3L turbo diesel crew cab dually long bed and couldn't believe how quick it was. It would actually smoke the dually tires. Of course I also couldn't believe how quick the gas gauge went down when I got into it either.
