Hey! So I know this one is about the first and oldest issue with the Prowler.

I've seen some pretty ellaborate and expensive solutions out there. BUT I was wondering if there was anyone out there with some ideas off the beaten path??

I've been thinking about applying a resistant compound like truck bed-liner on the under side of the nose of my Kat.

Anyone else trying some creative solutions out there?

We will try to back up to must parking areas that have a curb. Go on an angle over speed pumps. We all have a scratched nose. well most of us. Good luck.

Yeah... I've pretty much given up on never scratching my nose... guess I was just curious if anyone had tried anything other than the usual pricey bumpers.

By the way PUMPKIN! I owe you one on the Infiniti Kappa instal.

YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

The Real Rod nose protectors are tremendous. My neighbor kissed a curb so hard that I believe if I had not had the protectors, I would have had to replace the front end.

Awhile ago I installed the back up sensor system on my rear bumper.
http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum9/HTML/002024.html

Last month at Cruisin for a Cure, someone stopped by and inspected the system to see if it can be used on the front end to detect curbs. I think it can be done and would love to see someone try.

I installed a camera in the nose and I have a retractable 7" screen, when I pull up to a curb I had a button installed on the dash and when I switch the button the nose camera appears and lets me see where I'm pulling up to so I don't hit the curb. Not the most inexpensive solutions but it does work really well

I put a label on my dash. It reads: "WATCH THE NOSE!!!". Not as sophisticated as the camera but it's been effective so far.

I have Pat get in between the curb and the prowler and when I get real close to the curb she yells and then I stop, well most of the time.

Nice parking job. The owner of this Prowler came to close for comfort. I won't mention any names but he posts here on a regular basis.

Oooohh.........that is close! After having done it once to both my cats..........I now stay back farther than I normally would when I park a car. I'd rather have the extra space in front of the car than the rear of the car.

I think I have the closest ever picture. Took this pic of a fellow Florida Kat Pack member at Prowlin Villages earlier this year. I can't believe but got on my hands and knees and it WASN'T TOUCHING.

Another option I'm looking at is getting one of those invisible bras.

I dont like any of the bumpers because they take away from the prowler look a little.

I helped this guy get his business going so I've been meaning to take the Prolwer down to his shop and see if he can do a custom intall.

Has anyone tried the 3M film on their Kat yet? This guy put one on my Nissan Murano and it's already protected my front end from some ugly gashes.

The Prowler we just purchased from friends in CA has the 3M film covering most of the nose piece, on the backs of the side mirrors and in place of the rock guards. The car has about 3,000+ miles on it since it was redone as a show car and the 3M was applied. From what I can see, it has worked very well.

jmo.i personally would not use bedliner, cause once its on
there, its extremely difficult to remove ,and i do mean difficult, kinda of near impossible.best bet, repaint and let dry for 30 days then install a couple layers of 3m paint protection film.hers my motto to prevent nose scrapes, when you think you haven't pulled up far enough, you have.it works.
