The pics in the article (above the normal ad pictures) shows a purple 99 Prowler. He represents the burnout in the purple as being this car. The ad states it's a 2000 black. The harness on top of the engine in the purple Prowler pics doesn't show in the engine pics for the black Prowler engine. He talks of custom wheels but they are not custom. The exhaust even looks stock (with baffles in) - he mentions different exhaust. And any Prowler owner should know that the Prowler doesn't have a spare tire well. Is anyone in Arizona familiar with this car? Too many discrepancies here... Should ebay be notified?

oops... a link might help...

Looking at the sellers profile, it looks like he deals in sports cards. The top bid stands at $15K with no reserve so right away, I'm suspicious. Maybe this guy has had his account hijacked...happened to me once.

The plates are Arizona for sure. The backdrop for the pictures was taken either at the Islands or Val Vista Lakes sub-divisions in Gilbert, Az it seems - phone number also appears to be legitimate area code # for these areas.

We don't know who the seller is,,,,,but if you want to call either of the two phone numbers listed to get info,,,,,,maybe either Curt or I can take a look at it if you are 'really' interested in this car?

First,,,do a CARFAX report on this vehicle >>> to be sure its a Arizona/one owner car:

I think the purple cat pictures are from the Hennesey sales brochure for their GTX Prowler. Or a promotional packet provided by them. The purple originally had the painted wheels thats why the brochure says custom chrome wheels. Quite an attractive package. Worth $20,000, thats up to the buyer. I would call and ask questions and LISTEN CAREFULLY, if you are interested.

I have no interest in buying this car. I just didn't want someone else getting burned. Some other things... he revised the ad shortly after writing it. It looks like the ad was for another car. If a dealer, I can accept that, but to change the VIN# to lower case is weird. Also, he changed the minimum bid. When I first checked this, it had only one bid of $100 posted AFTER the lowest bid amount was changed. He has since gotten another bidder posting $15,100 and NOW, the first bid reads $15,000. Thats odd... Also, he says bidders with negative or zero feedback must contact him before bidding. The first bid was in about 5:30am. Ad was posted about midnight prior. Both bidders have zero feedback. One has been a member since 12-1-02 (The 2nd bidder. - a shill?) I hope whoever gets this one does their homework. Sounds like a nice car.

I ran into Curt Stall at the car show tonight,,,,,,he sent the guy an email, and got a reply to call him directly about any questions about the car. Other than the rah/rah Henessey B.S. he is trying to recoup on overspending,,,,the ad seems ok.

If interested,,,call the owner Jeff,,,and run a CARFAX report. If it goes further than that with interest,,,maybe I can look at the car for you.

I am willing to bet the auction will not reach anywhere near what he wants to get back out of the car and the auction will be pulled befotre it ends. Just a hunch. If he is in $70K deep into the car, getting $30-40K back out may not be what he is looking for. JMO.

As expected, the "No Reserve" auction was ended early. Not getting the $$ he is into the car for no doubt. It's a great car, very unique, but people cannot expect to recoup money spent on mods, especially one as potentially engine-damaging like nitrous (even if installed by Hennessey).
