10/29/06 - UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE Hello all you Kats out there. I wanted to take a moment and give you guys & gals an update on Joe's son. First let me tell you that he as FULLY recovered from his coma and is alert and doing well. He is fully mentally aware of his surroundings and at this stage appears to have ABSOLUTLY no brain damage or diminished brain functions. Praise our FATHER for this recovery. And God Bless all of you who sent prayers and cards. Second: His son is 27 years old. Between his age and the fact his LIFE FLIGHT only had 10 miles to the trauma center played a key roll in saving this young man's life. Third: His son sustained sever head trauma due to the accident and virtually had to have his whole face rebuilt in the chin/jaw area. He is currently in a HALO and will remain in it for the next 4 months while his broken neck mends and heals. Fourth: THE GREAT NEWS: NO PARALYSIS at all. Fifth: He has a long road ahead of him for therapy. He suffered sever leg damage and that is the next area of concern. Thus far, he has undergone 7 operations since the accident happened. Sixth: THE REALLY GOOD NEWS. Joe's son comes home next week. In closing, Joe has been under tremendous stress, anxiety, and pressure as we call all imagine. Joe wanted me to tell ALL OF YOU THIS!!!! Thank you for your cards, your thoughts, your prayers, and mostly your concern for a person you don't even know. He HONESTLY feels and believes that his son WOULD NOT have come through this without the PRAYERS of every one who took a moment and prayed for his son’s recovery. From his heart, he THANKS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU who took the time to pray and send a card. THANK YOU!!!!! Joe sounded tired on the phone tonight. We talked for about 15 minutes and despite all this, had a few laughs (He needed them.) I shared stories about my CPA's wife and her continued fight for her exact same neck injuries. By the way, she is past the HALO stage, back at home, and doing the therapy sessions now. Well in closing, I thank each and every POA Kats for their prayers. Please put Joe back on our prayer list for his son's journey home next week. It will be a most emotional experience for both him and Joe. With regards and sincere appreciation, ADACUS ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LISTEN UP ALL POA GUYS/GALS: A fellow who sells Prowler Items on eBay (joect860 - eBay ID) has had a most unfortunate crisis come to his family. I purchased an item from Mr. Lawson and had not received it. After couple of phone calls and several emails, Mr. Lawson contacted me yesterday, Saturday. I cannot begin to tell you the despair I heard in this man voice. Joseph's son (whose name I did not get) was involved in a most TRAGIC accident and has been in coma for the last 10 days. As we know, this is not a favorable condition to be in BUT I have had two very close people in my life come through exactly the same crisis and resume normal functional lives. I have shared with Mr. Lawson both of these individuals and have offered him their phone numbers for conversation to help him and his family pull through this. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE People, take a moment out of our lives and drop this man a "OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU CARD" Sign it as "Your Name, POA Member ID" These cards are most important during these times. One of the people I shared with him was my personal close friend and CPA, Dennis Bounds. His wife was T-BONED in her Honda Civic drivers door by a guy driving a mini-van at 65 mph with her 2 kids in the car. She was in coma for near 2 weeks. It's been over 6 months and she has been home for 1 month now. I will honestly tell you this. It was through our church and prayers to our FATHER that got Becky through her injuries. The doctors could not believe this woman recovered so quickly. Even with a broken neck. By the way, Mr. Lawson's son also has the same neck injury. Mr. Lawson and his family have an EXTREMELY difficult and long road ahead of them. I was personally there every day for my CPA. I cannot tell you how many times I sat down and cried after our daily (sometimes 4 times a day) phone calls. Here is the thing I want all to understand, I do not know Mr. Lawson personally. I've only talked to him one time. I've only purchased 1 item from him. BUT I UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS MAN IS GOING THROUGH. So let's all pull together, take a moment while were in the store, purchase a card, and mail it to his family. Mine goes out in Tuesdays mail. Please after you have sent your card, please post your name on this chain with a few small words as I would like him to receive a copy of this so he can forward it to his son. Here is his address: Mr. Joseph D. Lawson Let's flood him with cards and small words of our thoughts. adacus P.S. PLEASE KEEP BUMPING THIS UP SO IT STAYS FREASH.
