My emissions test was due in December of 2005. I got a four month extension on the MVA website. Well the car was still apart in April so I had to send pictures and a letter to get another extension. I decided to take it up today since it's due in a couple of weeks. I waited in line for about fifteen minutes, the cars moved up, an employee comes out, points at me and says "go around and come into the office". So I wonder what's going on because I have been there before and had no problem. I go into the office and the guy says " We don't want to take a chance damaging your car going over the treadmill on the floor so we are giving you a two year waiver. No argument here! I didn't even have to pay the $14 inspection fee! This message has been edited by MDProwler on 08-23-2006 at 06:21 PM |

Cool! Would have been embarrassing to have a couple more beer cans fall out of the engine compartment eh Gary? You just can't trust that WildBild fella around your car. |

Just took my Mulholland in to the Annapolis emissions station as well. To my surprise I was waived to the office and given a piece of paper to place in the glove box and i'm good till 12/08. Another benefit to being a Prowler owner!! |

I don't even have emissions inspection down here, but I am loving the story...Jersey emission inspectors were brutal years ago... |

I had the same problem 1 year, so the next time I sent them an email explaining what had happened and they gave me a pass online. I didn't even have to show up. |

They waved me passed too - I was told they will have to keep doing it until they change their inspection bay to accept low front end cars - they did not want to pay for front end damage. ------------------ |

If you didn't pass a legitimate emissions inspection, don't be driving your "bucket-O-bolts" over here in Virginia!!! We like our clean air and don't need you fouling up the air we breath!!! |

I got a "pass" the last time I had to go in.....after I explained how we were "going to war" if they damaged my car....guess they didn't want to risk it... Ohio discontinued E-checks as of January, 2006...People were up in arms over it...They would have shut down earlier but it was privately owned and they had a "no cut / guaranteed" contract with the state till then... I always made a point or writing "extortion" in the "for" section of my check....Failure rate in Ohio was probably less than 1% but the other 99% had to "ante up"!! |

quote: I watched the last (Virginia) emissions inspection - all they did was test the gas cap and plug into the OBDII port. I'd be interested to know whether I passed based upon "no error codes" or whether they're actually able to measure anything. Makes you wonder. -GRROWL |

I guess Maryland changed it's procedure. The first time I took mine in they did the OBDII port and away I went. Joe, you should have to get it done twice a year down there. Just because. lol Lexington Park is like a little DC anymore.
