T-Rex - you had fun at my expense once before in Texas,,,,not funny, lol. Have your guys ever wrote a ticket for no front plate? Got to be a real Chicken S. deal to get a ticket for that. One of our local friends got a ticket for 'blue dot' lenses on his PT,,,,,,yet the same police department has blue dots on their '55 Chevy "Say No to Drugs" show car. |

I got a parking ticket last Thursday for being parked more than 5 feet from a parking meter, on the motorcycle, downtown. $ 25 fine. Not worth going to court. I did not know that law existed. |

Nancy, yep I knew about that. I can't stand it when folks empty their ash trays at the stop signs. Those filters last about 30 years probably. |

Jim, nope, that's mine! If it was Mickey, his inspection sticker would be expired by a few years! Ed, We were just having some fun while taking a few pictures in the parking lot after shift briefing. I actually have never been stopped or had a ticket, and Buddy, they all have to work for me, so they probably won't ever write me a real one!!! A/C, if we would have been closer to my jurisdiction, I would have had so many cars chasing you, it would have been a reenactment of the Sugarland Express! Kraut, at least it is safe in that lot! Thanks all, this was only the third time I have had the Purple on the road, so while they were taking some pics, I thought I would share a few with ya'll. ------------------ |

Too-hip, I remember reading that thread of yours. Like I have told others about this subject, there are many more things we as law enforcement officers can be doing than worrying about front license plates! The only way anyone gets stopped in this area for that violation is when you can't find any probable cause to stop them for any other reason. But then again, so is no license plate lamp, headlight or tail light violations, etc. Equipment violations are not the prime reason we are going to stop a car, they just might be the only reason we can find if we think you really need to be checked out! ------------------ |

I've been thinking about this a few times lately. I put my Kat into service 3 weeks ago to commute to work. I had not driven it in Texas much until then. As it turns out I have passed many members of law enforcement over the past 3 weeks with no front plate and no bumpers, and as you would expect, they have more important things to do than hassle me about it.
