I received an e-mail from a person in France about a month ago regarding the purchase of a Wonder Bar and Hinge Protectors.
His initial e-mail to me made me laugh but it also made stop and think about how much all humans are so much alike.
Here's a portion of his first e-mail,

Hi Larry, I am Georges, french (but it is not my fault) owner of a 2001 Mulholand ed. Prowler.

I told him it was OK. I'm American, please don't hate me either. I only have one vote.

After exchanging a few e-mails I agreed to have parts from various vendors shipped to my shop for him to pick up while he visited America this week. Gary sent some parts, Dean sent some parts, a couple of other vendors sent some parts and I made sure I had everything together for Georges to pick them up yesterday.
Here's another part of an e-mail Georges sent to me. I got a laugh out of this one also,

With my 55 years old, I still believe in the human beeing even if I change eleven times of profession and eight times of country. Anyway, I follow with the same wife since 35 years.

It was pleasure to meet him and his beautiful wife yesterday and get to place a face with the name of my new friend. You just couldn't meet a nicer or more polite couple. Funny too!

Georges was telling me how much he is looking forward to the BIG Prowler event in Europe in a month or two.

As he promised me, he brought a bottle of Sauternes 2003 wine direct from France.

I'm proud to call this Frenchman and his wife my friends.
The world over, we're all very different but the truth is, we're all very much the same.
I hope to someday enjoy a glass of wine with them at their home in France.

Nice story Larry. Too bad it would be cost prohibitive to ship all our cars to Europe to joiun their event!

Hey Larry, you couldn't have said it better. As we have talked about many times I hope to someday enjoy a day of flyfishing with you on a nice little creek and maybe a sip or two of Jack from the flask in between casts.

I've done some business with Georges too, through the mail. His emails are always wonderful and he is a Super Prowler Owner, on either Continent!

It is nice to hear stories like that and it is great that even folks from across the pond can appreciate the old hotrod look of the Prowler. I guess most of us are pretty much alike. Thanks for sharing Larry.

I sold Georges the 300M shift knob for his Kat. It may have been the best eBay experience I ever had. The USPS directed his package to Mexico when it should have gone to the country of Andorra, where he lives (near Spain and France... very rich...). He was very understanding of the problem and we emailed regularly. The package finally came and he sent me this wonderful email:

Hi Kevin,

I saw this morning an old man, white hair and barb who call me. "Hey Georges ! Some one told me that there is a little package which is waiting for you in the Spanish post office after a long long trip to arrive here. "

I could not believe him but I went running to the post office and, effectively, I get a wonderful chromed shift knob in very well conditions. Going out to thank him he has disappeared from the place where he was. . .

What a lovely Christmas story you say ? Better than lovely because it is the truth guy !!!

I get it this morning. Perfect because so well packed. Thank you Kevin, hope it is the sign of a future very very good and happy new year.

I will keep you in mind as a very nice person who do its best to resolve this affair. Thanks a lot for all Kevin, take care of you and all the best for this new year.

Georges

It is great to say you have friends around the world!
