hello out there,

Just thought that I'd post a topic about an unfortunate event that happened to me over the weekend ...

It was a great Sunday morning so I decided to take the kat out for a spin, roof down & Air Patrol fixed in place. As I drove off, I noticed that the AP was rattling a bit, although no more than usual I thought. Called in to my local petrol station & filled up & then hit the road. I was blasting on a bit & then all of a sudden I heard this strange noise & .... there it was gone ... the AP had been "blown off" .... Fortunately the car behind, well quite a way behind actually, stopped & recovered it. it is badly scratched but looks repairable (methinks) I am taking it to my local specialist garage & will see if it can be repaired.

Has anyone else suffered this misfortune???

I will have to be more vigilant in future

Cheers

Mike

When I had the Air Patrol I never had this problem. But after hearing horror stories such as this and folks not closing the deck lid tight. I always double and triple check everything before I take off down the road.

Hi,

Fortunately no damage to the car itself, & yes I will check / double check in the future.

When I attach mine, I always pull up on it to make sure it is fastened.

Sounds very familiar. Fortunately my Air Patrol went the opposite direction.

I solved it with Lock Tite as suggested by Mr. Real Rod. Never had a problem since then.
