Just for Grins I ran a true value estimate on EDMUNDS.COM for our 99 purple with 32,000 miles and condition = outstanding. The following is what they showed. Seems really low to me.
Before anyone asks if we are thinking of selling. The answer is not just no, but HELL NO!

Trade-In $22,511
Private Party $25,461
Dealer Retail $28,660

If it "seems really low to me" then what do you think a REASONABLE value should be?

Based on what I see selling both here and on Ebay. If our Prowler was stock I should be able to sell it for (ie private sale) for at least $28K to $30K if not more. Now with that said. Our Prowler has loads of mods. This can either hurt or improve the value depending on what a potential buyer may be looking for. It really doesn't matter as the car is not for sale and I did not buy it as an investment. On the other hand if something should happen dictating we sell it then it's nice to have the best possible value.

For 1999 with 32,000 miles that is not stock (has personalized modifications), those prices seem about right, maybe even slightly on the higher side.

Only useful if an individual doesn't check prices and wants to deal with a bank themself.

Trading it in, they use auction figures which are WAY lower then NADA or BUC....

Kelley Blue Book shows a slightly higher value.
I had to do a 2002 Chrysler instead of '01 Plymouth and there was no black tie option. mileage I put was 29,000 and the median value was around $34k for good condition.

Possibly with the mods you are correct. However the mods were not factored into the quote from Edmunds. Also while mods can have an negative impact they also could have a positive impact on value depending on the mods and what a buyer is looking for. I also know I cannot recoup the cost of our mods.
All that said 32,000 miles may sound high for Prowler but its low for most cars. In Edmunds the mileage added $1,430 to the quoted value.
Also our Prowler is absolutely immaculate. You can eat off the engine it's so clean. People are shocked , amazed and express disbelief when I tell them the actual mileage and the places it has been driven including to Utah and back. Always used full synthetic oil every 3000 miles.

Lastly all 32,000 miles all were put on, driven only on sunny Sundays by a little old lady driving it to church

One thing that I have noted from years of buying the "Premium" edition with those extra accessories, is when it comes to trade-in values, you get the same as the stripped down model that may have been up to $10K+ less! That really sucks, but that is the used car market. Only if someone really wants YOUR car can you realize that extra money you have in it. The used car guy only sees YOUR car as what profit it can bring him. It is just another car on the lot.

I wonder how many you can buy at those prices?
I sold my 99 last Fall with 50,000 miles on it for about dealer retail.

You did alright Ed getting the price for your '99 cat,,,maybe could have gotten another grand or two from the right buyer?

When trading in a car,,,,dealers 'here' figure about 80% of low book price as the figure they will use for your trade-in's value,,, minus it's needs to make lot ready. Color,,,desirable model,,,clean ready to go condition may bring your value up several thousands of dollars,,,,to a limit. Usually,,,its better to sell outright like Ed did for retail price.

mileage, condition and documentation is what I think are the defining points that impact market value. Just my humble opinion. Joe

The last time I had a Kat for sale was around 6 months ago. It was a 2001 yellow with 28K miles on it. I had a guy tell me that KBB was only $23-$24K on it. I politely told him that he should contact Kelly Blue Book personally and ask them to sell him one for that. LOL

Rich, I'll accept your logic however, I think it might be slightly high with that many miles. Again, you do make sense.
