Does anyone have a spare fuel gauge that you might like to sell me? My gauge is sitting on empty and I know I have gas in the car. According to the procedure in the service manual I have a bad gauge. Is there another check to make sure it is the gauge?

Look in your manual and check which fuse goes to the gas gauge, they are numbered 1,2,3 etc.
Take the fuse out for the gas gauge and see if it's blown.
If so replace it if not.
Hope for another miracle.
Pat

p.s. The fuse box is on the drivers side end of the dash.
There's a hand hold, pull and it will pop out.

I would be surprised if your problem was the Gauge. Most likely the Sending Unit in the gas tank....JMO

I'll go with Buddy's statement,,,,,,having had the problems. If under warranty,,,go with a new fuel pump assembly. If not under warranty,,,,learn to live with it or be prepared to spend some big $$$.

Here I am an auto tech (mechanic)and I'm trying to fix my gas gauge the hard way first. Dealing with electronics and computers in cars you tend forget about the basics. My gas gauge sat on empty. Why? Maybe the arm on the sending unit is stuck? So I got my gas can and put a couple of gallons of gas in the Kat and told my wife that I was going to the Post Office. On the way to the Post Office I had to cross some rail road tracks. That did the trick. Gas gauge went to half full. Problem solved.
