Same with the Crossfire's up here. The huge mark up has just killed sales.

On the SSR web site they were asking for suggestions some time ago for what would be the best color combination for the final one off the line. My choise was a White SSR with Red interior like the original Vet. Never did hear what is is going to be.........

To little, to late. GM missed the 'Retro Craze' by at least 3-4 years. Vehicle was heavy, and under powered when first introduced. (Built on Trail Blazer platform and introduced with the 5.3L V-8) It could have been a contender if it had followed the roots of the original ElCamino. A uni-body construction, say from the GTO/ Holden, with the 6.0L V-8, tad more useful bed in the rear, and lower price tag, may have worked! The top is still a marvel to watch retract, and was well executed. GM will never recoop the engineering and tooling costs on this one.

The SSR was styled after this Utility vehicle from Australia, not even a US retro.

Ok, what's up with the pics

Sad to see it go! I have liked it from the beginning. When will dealers learn that the phrase 'Market Adjustment' is just an intellectual version of the word greed and stop shooting themselves in the foot.

I just signed up on ssrfanatic.com in hopes of getting some Prowler/SSr cruises together this Spring and Summer. Now that would look cool going down the road. Nice friendly people on that site.

To each their own, but this vehicle was plain ugly in my humble opinion. As pumpkin said, I won't lose any sleep over it.

Cheers,

I've always liked the looks of the SSR. Our local Chevy dealer got one initially and listed it at about $10K over sticker - and he got it.

Since then he's had 2 more he wasn't able to give away.

I'm still interested - but with no garage space left and 3 vehicles already, I'll need to win the lottery to own one.

Still, I'm interested in seeing how much I can get one for....

I have one here all lined up. It is an 05 Silver SSR loaded.
New at the dealer for $17K off the sticker of $49,800.
I forgot that I also have another $2K in GM Card points to take off the price.
Getting ready to pull the trigger on this one.

Charlie

Well I did it. Bought the Silver SSR today. Looked at several others and no other dealer could come close to the deal I was getting. I just couldn't pass it up. It will be going to the paint shop to be two toned first. That should hide it from the wife for a little while. She will just have to deal with it when I bring it home.

Congrats Charlie!!!

Hope the wife doesn't throw anything larger than a "Big Gulp" at you!

So does this mean that Cat Cruizin this Summer is out of the question? Maybe too busy with your new toy.

Brian
