I've ben on this site for the last few weeks asking a lot of questions about looking at, buying, & trailering a prowler. I purchased a 02 inca gold w/ 1100 miles from a estate in wisconsin & trailered it back today. the car has sat in a garage for the last year so I will need to change the oil & filter (what type of oil do you recommend). Also the hood doesn't stay up so I guess I will have to change the hood shocks (saw some on ebay for $454.00, is this a good price?) Also what should the price of ceramic brake pads cost? I rented a trailer from Uhaul for $49.00 & it worked out great. I am thinking about getting a hitch & a weekender what should this cost? thanks for everyone's help. heres a picture. Hood shocks are available at the dealer for around $40.00 each. I recommend mobil 1 10w30 for oil.

Ceramic pads are about $ 65 if you do it yourself. Very simple to do. The hitch is around $ 250, I think but I am not positive. The weekender is around $ 1400. All prices are rough estimates. Congrats on the new cat and glad you found us. ------------------ |

Congratulations on the new kat. You will love it. We looked at this site for a number of months before we purchased ours also. My dealer recommended synthetic oil after 5,000 miles and said would not put it in even if we supply it before that point. I know we have some Valvolene folks on the site whe can offer some expert advice. Hope to see you at an event in the near future. Gordon |

Congrats on your new Inca Cat. I was a little in doubt about the colour at first when I bought mine some time ago but I do like it (more and more). Stands out between all traditional colours like red, black and grey, which are in abundance. Got ravin reviews but then again I'm in Holland and there are only 2 or 3 cats around here. Enjoy, wou will love it. Best regards, Kees ------------------ This message has been edited by kees on 01-08-2006 at 07:43 AM |

Now Now Snoman ... and here I even complimented your choice of car colors <sigh> .. The shocks may not be totally bad, just in our cold weather are not at 100% ... see how they are in SPring/summer when air is warmer, or, as Rick (meandmykitty) said, check with dealer ... the price you stated you found them at seems very high. Look forward to seeing you at local chicago area events that we come up with ... oh, and a tip, don't hold your breath waiting for Red5 to call you back .... you will grow very OLD! |

Congrats on the Kat! As for the hood struts, go to an auto parts store like Auto Zone. They have them for the same (or less) than a dealer and on mine they gave a lifetime warranty. This is good since they only seem to last a year or so. Also, in the cold weather, they unlikely will stay up. In the warmer months they probably will work fine. Keep posting! ------------------ |
