Saw a prowler for sale. It is a 99 w/ some front end damage, will need a air bag, & will have a salvage title.Has about 15,000 miles. How much value is lost w/ the salvaged title & are replacement parts easy to get?
thanks, Matt Murphy

In my experience, a Salvage Title reduces the Vehicle value by at least 1/2. Most Lenders wont loan $$ on a car with a Salvage Title.
Replacement parts are difficult to find Used but are still plentiful New. With our discounts at different dealerships, the prices on New arent too bad...Good Luck!!

Matt, if the frame is bent you will lose your buns trying to fix it. It might be worth some $ as parts but to get airbags, nose piece and steering parts will be very expensive, if you can find them at all.

What does the word "salvage" mean to you?
To most it means JUNK

How much value is lost w/ the salvaged title

all the value; it's only worth the remaining parts which might actually be something. JMHO

Back in Feb. someone hit my car at the drivers side wheel. Even though the damage doesn't look bad, air bag was intact... The frame is bent and the car was totaled.

My buy back from the insurance company was $14k. I sold it to a body shop, for the same amount. It wasn't worth all the work and $ for me to have it done...

Being in the business for years a salvage title on a vehicle makes the vehicle good for parts only.If you do rebuild the vehicle and deside to sale at any time you would be able to do so.Don,t spend good money on a piece thats only good for parts unless you have a need or outlet for the parts.

Hey KALA, I'm interested to know about your buyback. Are you saying that the ins. company thought the car was worth only 14K????
