Another great year almost over. It's a good time to remember the great times had this year at the different events.
Things I'll remember:
Last minute arrival at Leonardtown car show and leaving with "Best Mopar" trophy.

Joe's Crab Shack

Cruisin to Harpers Ferry WV with SirReal

The Dells
Chasing my runaway truck on the way
Lunch at Kevin Arnolds house
Denny's
Parking lot parties at night
Police blocking intersections on picture day

Woodward
Cruisin Woodward
Lot party (on the US side of the hotel) lol
Go Kart Racing!
CAAP

Lighthouse Challenge
Baltimore Inner Harbor parking around the lighthouse on the pier
Special treatment by all the lighthouse staff

Just some of the many memories from 2005. I have never had so many friends across the country as I've made in the past two years. Here's to all of you!

Let's hear your best Prowler times of '05

MD,,,good topic

The Az. Prowler Trash started 2005 off in January with our annual Prowler Day at the Scottsdale Pavilions Car Show - nearly 30 Az Prowlers made the show and were admired by thousands of spectators.

February - Lunch cruise to Florence,Az followed.

March - Tonto Natural Bridge Cruise, north of Payson, Az. Great turn out of Prowlers to make the 200 mile cruise up into the mountain area of northern Az.

April - Cruising Central Avenue event.

May - Breakfast cruise to Saguaro Lake - several new Prowler owners made their first cruise event with our gang.

July - Lethia and I make the 5,000 mile round trip representing Arizona, at the national Prowler event at the Dells, in Wisconsin. What a great 20 day trip we enjoyed,,,seeing old friends, meeting owners we had never met before, and finally getting to meet many of the covert gang of thieves who call themselves the East Coast Prowler Posse

September - Annual Az. Devil's Highway Cruise - one of the most demanding mountain cruises in the U.S. 100 miles of performance driving, negotiating 1,000 switchback turns, while dropping from 10,000 feet of elevation to the desert floor. Not for the weak of heart or inexperienced drivers.

Cruising Central Avenue Cruise - last one held in downtown Phoenix >>> Central Avenue scheduled for Lite-Rail transportation construction, and this street will soon be reduced to a path of one lane.

October - Tortilla Flat Breakfast Cruise - 15 Prowlers make the 100 mile round trip to discover "Where the Hell is Tortilla Flats?" Once again, several new Prowler owners attend the cruise event.

December - Annual Toys for Tots Cruise/Car Show to Wickenburg, Az. Another great turnout to end the year of Arizona Prowling events.

Another great year of Prowling in the books! We look forward to 2006, starting with Prowler Day at the Scottsdale Pavilions, February 4th. Make plans to attend - email Jan for rsvp space allotment.

Kattin' 2005....

seeing the Tangelo Kat become a reality, a very rewarding experience to see your idea come to life like a fine art project and realizing all the parts really did fit...

Dells, meeting many more POA members and having a very relaxed week...the Tangelo Kat got "Twinkied"... realized GenoTex has the whitest legs on the planet and Alley Cat had the hairiest neck....great times in the lot hanging out with a great group of people....some great cruisin' everywhere we went, even the rain day was a blast, Kats don't shrink when they get wet...

Woodward Dream Cruise....I will attend this event the rest of my healthy years, or as long as I can get someone to drag my fat a$$ behind the bumper of their car....this is what I dreamed of when I was a kid, read about in the magazines, but apparently didn't find a map to Detroit until I was 50 years old....life is too short to miss out on that much fun....If you haven't been there, make this a destination of top priority for 2006...

playin' on the POA Board daily with my useless posts and stupid contests....ps...the prizes for the FOTO Contest are going to be finished in the next week or so(FINALLY)...

2005 was the year I lost my longest friend and car buddy.....when I was too young to drive, he would tear up the roads in his blue Fords just to make me happy....when I was old enough to drive we raced each other like speed crazed teens(I was)...when he got to old to drive, I would load him up in a Viper and cruise well into the triple digit territory....a couple of years ago we hit over 150mph while taking the mountain roads to the homeland, he loved every minute of it...he always told everyone 2 things in the first few minutes of conversation, "my son wears shorts all year round, EVERY DAY" and secondly, he always told everyone that would listen that I was the best driver he ever knew, maybe because he taught me the fine art of abusing tires at an early age...

2006 will be a different year...Merry Christmas Dad

Viper SRT #703.....arriving from Woodhouse after some serious performance mods...The SRT we took on the final pilgrimage to the homeland as he called it...

I to like Tangled, learned many car things from my father and wish he was still alive. Lost him 5 years ago and we used to go on cruises all over and car shows, Friday to the Sonic and it all came to a end on 12/29/2000 he was 92 and as sharp as a tack. After that my life changed....It was just hard to go on the cruises or shows with out him and have everyone keep asking me about my dad so I just stayed away, after that I sold and will sell off some more of my cars so that someone somewhere will enjoy these toys and have memories like I do with them instead of them being hidden in storage . On 8/14/04 my life changed and I bought the Prowler and have met a lot of truly great people on P.O.A. and in my local era. Now I have a new passenger and it's my wife and she likes some of the stuff that the Prowler People have done in the last year. I was shocked that she asked about what is being planed this coming year.. Now that's a first, and my sons newly acquired driver license seems to have opened the door on his car interest. To all of you out there that has helped me with computer skills it is truly a dream come true to be in the P.O.A. family. Lets have a safe and eventful 2006 with things to do that will get some of the cars out of the garages that I didn't see this year... P.S. Tangled I had to check the closet and make sure I still had my plaid jacket after the Viper picture that you posted...

I'll chip in on this one when I feel a little better. I know I will forget more than half of it at this point.
The Prowler and the POA have changed MANY lives making them much richer and fuller.

I was hoping that some of you guys would post on this topic just to find out what others did in 2005. Would like to take this time to post this picture of my dad at 92 years old it was taken in the summer of 2000. He left us on this date that year. Big time Mopar man as you can tell by his Hemi hat and legends shirt and he would have loved to cruise in the prowler, if I would have had it then but settled for old yeller. To all out there Have a Happy Prowler New year and post what was done in 2005 and don't forget to post on up and coming events for 2006. With enough advance notice I just maybe able to attend one close by out of state this year. Your Prowler Pal John Collins=onecatnodog

Thanks Gary for starting this thread. I too, enjoyed the "Leonardtown Early Show" and spending the day with my "East Coast Posse Buds", although we froze our "a$$" off.
"The Dells" and "Woodward" were great fun and I always enjoy seeing my "old friends" and meeting the new ones for the first time. As many of you have heard me say before; I have been a member of many car clubs, boat clubs, flying clubs, etc. BUT, The POA group is my favorite. I love all of you guys and gals and look forward to 2006 and seeing many of you again some where along the way.
I hope Santa was good to EVERYONE, and I wish you all a very safe and Happy New Year.

We started off with a party in January at Gunny & Pam Niemann's house. We did the gift exchange/swap/steal thing. It was really a GREAT time. SERIB got lucky and wound up with the top prize.
I think the next thing was the REDS Opening Day Parade which was the first Monday in April. We are limited to 8 cars but it was a huge crowd.
We were in the GREAT AMERICAN Parade, which was a bust on the 3rd of July but we finally met Don and Peggy from N. KY. The next day we were in the Montgomery 4th of July parade. Beautiful day, big crowd and a lot of fun.
We travelled to the Dells in a Catavan that grew as we made our way west and north. A slight incident in Indy dampened the joy of the trip up but we made up for it after we arrived. Beautiful scenery and a lot of laughs in the parking lot. The jet boat trip was a lot of fun, too.
Sandy and me travelled to Nova Scotia via the backroads in early August. We met up with Halicat and stayed in their cabin on the bay for several nights. Truly a beautiful spot and totally serene. You meet the nicest people with a Prowler. We met Brian TooHipCat on the way back. We drove straight to Detroit for Woodward. If you have never been there, you need to see it at least once because it is truly unreal. Every kind of vehicle imaginable and a bunch of great Prowler folks to hang out with.
We participated in the Harvest Home Parade, which has been going on for almost 150 years. Huge crowds and a huge parade. Early Sept.
We went to the Kentucky Speedway to drive the track in November. We had several Vipers, several Prowlers and a Lamborghini.
Sold a red 99 and bought a red 99 within a week's time. We really did not do too much in the Fall.
I am sure I will think of more to insert, I am still a little loopy with the flu.

I've only been on this site for a few months, but you guys answered many of my "dumb" questions. I've learned quite a lot from this site. I'm having a blast with the car & look foward to meeting some of you next year. Have a safe & Happy New Year. Come on spring.

Met some really cool POA members this year!!! If I get the month wrong guys...please forgive me.

April: The cat comes out of hibernation to take my daughter (9 yrs old) to the Father Daughter dance. Man...seeing her so happy is truly priceless!

June: Exotic Car Show in Merrimack,NH. Met up with Chuck (CT Prowler) and Charlie (chasmccart). I believe Charlie just bought his cat a couple of weeks prior to the show.

July: Chrysler Nationals down in Carlisle, PA. First time I have ever been in the presence of over 20 Prowlers!!! I met so many cool POA members that weekend. What a great group!!!

August: Had the opportunity to meet up with Ed and his lovely wife Sandy when they were passing through my neck of the woods. They were on their way from Jim's (Halicat) place up in NS. The lunch/dinner went by way too fast!

I believe this was the month I first met up with Paul (Kruisin Kat) and his lovely wife Cindy. I swear the mosquitoes wanted to carry us away that night when we stopped for dinner at a small drive-in restaurant.

September: Paul (Kruisin Kat),his wife Cindy and I drove over to Bennington,VT to meet up with Sam (samthejeepman) and his lovely wife Karen. What a great time we had just cruising around and stopping for lunch. Thanks again for the nice lunch Sam!
Still can't beleive we got a chance to speak with one of the Prowler's design engineers! I mean what are the odds?

October: 14 cats showed up for the Fall Foliage Run up to the White Mountains of NH. What a time that was. Little scary on the higher elevations of the Kangamangus Highway with all that snow.
Man...the coolest people definitely drive Prowlers.

November: Decided to take a spin down to see Sam and his wife Karen again in NJ. I got a chance to see just how rich Sam's life actually is. A beautiful family, house and of course what a collection of rides! I will never forget what it was like to be a passenger in my friend Sam's GT-40!!!

December: Roads were free of salt to allow me to take the cat to midnight mass on Christmas Eve.
I even took it out today for probably the last time. Hope my bodyman can get me in to repair that decklid soon.

Well...put about 12,000 miles on my 97 this year. Bet I will probably do a couple grand more that that next year. I would like to get my wife more involved. It's just so tough with our 9 year old twins.

To end this...I hope to meet up with many more of you great POA members in the up and coming years!

Thanks for listening and Happy New Year!!!

Brian

Eleanor and I had a wonderful time this year, mostly consumed with planning the Dells event. Centered around that, we must thank Tim Fettig for giving us (all) the opportunity to visit the Dells Easter Seals camp, and Bob Goetz for his generous heart in allowing us (all) to help out a young man, Zach West.
The time planning and executing my Monday treasure hunt was great fun, and to hear the comments upon return of those participating in it (LOL); and having/hearing our son Phil's band play on Monday night, AND handing out the banner (and other things) at Thursday's wonderful banquet, was the highlight of our year, well documented on the DVD. Thanks!

We met quite a few new POA people there this year, and while we were busy 'behind the scenes' and Eleanor was not feeling well, which cut down on our actual participation in some of the events, it was no less a great time for us personally. Nice to meet/great some new Texas friends Will be cruisin' with you guys in your territory in a few more years.

The return to Minnesota a month later to execute the plan was a heartwarming experience that we will not forget.

Other than that, we really didn't (unfortunately) have time this year to do much with the Prowler/POA family.

Enduro Bob was a 'savior' for us this year, lending me his front shocks... otherwise the Dells would have been a total washout for us. Thanks again Bob. and yes, they're still on the floor! LOL

For the first time since 2002, we did NOT attend the Woodward Dream Cruise, but that error will not occur again!

Looking forward to another great Prowlin' year in 2006. Son Phil and I plan to attend the Kentucky Headhunters Bash being hosted by Gary & The Ushers (pacemakers?) and plan to be in Woodward, hopefully with my brother coming up from Texas, a great carbuff all his life, and he's never been! Should be a treat

Thanks to ALL of this wonderful group.

2005 - It was a great year!
A good friend e-mailed me recently saying, "WHO KNEW BUYING A CAR WOULD COME WITH A GREAT GROUP OF FRIENDS?"
(Thank's Frank) No truer words were written, but so much for the friends, no one can dispute the fact that Prowler Owners make the bestiest friends ever.
As for events, Pam and I went out on a limb and hosted our first Prowler event around the "Cruisin' Downriver" car cruise. Did alittle drivin' (extremely hot 95 degree temperature) and a great barbecue, Except for the sea food salad. (per the Mayor of Moddersville, will try harder this year Jerry). Looks like this years schedule event is going to be June 24, 2006. More to follow.
Then of course came the "DELL'S" - our first major event out of state. Couldn't have been better.
WOODWARD DREAM CRUISE - TUIB is right! No other cruise like this one. The cruise itself fantastic, the events and all the planning done by CJ Longstreth and Bob, made this car cruise one not to be missed. They really know how to make everything and everyone feel special. 2006?
Our last event was the PUMPKIN RUN - Michigan's second annual?. (sure hope there's more of these to come) Jerry and Kim Wilson and Jerry and Annette Naumann really go out of their way to make this event a memorable experience. Their planning for the unuaual makes this event one to put on your calendar even if you don't live in Michigan. Right Dixie and Gene??
The cats are put away, we're already registered and are planning on several events for 2006 - looks like it's gonna be another great year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL!! and especially CJ and Bob who go out of their way to promote the POA to anyone and everyone - you were right, a great group of people!

Thanks - Tom and Pam

CJ

Wow! 2005........what a great Prowler year....

Apr/May - We started off this year with the Chrysler Drive Your Pride event held at the Pontiac Silverdome. We were invited by DC to participate as a club display as part of their event. They gave us some great gifts, free lunch and a great time. It was VERY cold, but we had a good turnout and the activities were awesome, especially the drifting demonstrations.

June - Hot Rod Power Tour was an event that Bob and I always wanted to do, so he decided that this was the year. I drove the Candy Cat 3,487 miles from Michigan to Milwaukee to Kissimmee and back. Seven Prowler owners (US and Canadian) drove the Long Haul, with other Prowler owners joining in with us on different legs of the trip. It was definitely an experience!! Lots of cruising and lots of laughs and fun.

July - The Wisconsin Dells event was a really great time. It was a part of the country that we'd never visited. Got to see all our "old" friends and met lots of new ones. We even saw this crazy guy on a pontoon boat who "mooned" us!!! Got some great pics of that!!! The Duck ride and the Jet Boat ride were awesome.......it was a great time.

August - The 11th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise here in Detroit. We visited MSX to view Chrysler concept vehicles, had our first annual Go Kart competition, visit to the Walter P. Chrysler Museum, a visit to the Conner Avenue Assembly plant for shopping and a tour of the Viper line. There were lunches, dinners, and cruising every night. The rain on the morning of the Dream Cruise didn't stop the Prowlers. We headed down Woodward in full force to lots of cheers, clapping, hooting and hollering. We ended with a dinner at The Aspen restaurant.

I hope that those of you who could not attend this year will attend this year. We will, again, be hosting this event.

Sept. - This month brought the 2nd Annual Pumpkin Run. There was more color change this year than last, and we had a great time. There were bonfires at night, a car parade and hayride. The Wilsons and Naumann's hosted another great Fall event. My Candy Cat had it's picture taken by a local photographer who wants to use it in the hotel brochure for this year.

Did a lot of driving this year and in between all of these events, we also went to a number of cruise-in's during the week. Looking forward to another great year of Prowlin'!
