Lost out on this kat in the last 21 seconds of the auction. Would have been a nice snab and finally end my quest for a silver kat at a bargain price. On to the next auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4576395416&sspagename=STRK%3AMEDW%3AIT |

Maybe you gave the winning bidder too much time to up his bid,,,,should have waited until the last possible seconds to "hit it",,,??? OK,,I don't know much about eBay bidding though. Wonder what his maximum was? Email the seller and inform them that you are a buyer,,,incase the winning bidder is a loser |

emailed the seller in case the buyer backs out on the deal emailed the buyer to see what they bid at the last minute, ie, what i would have had to top to win the auction i was going to go higher but was at work and got side tracked and didn't notice till 5 minutes after the auction ended. yea , i know, proxy bidding is available but don't like to do that due to shill bidding can you guess whose kat this was based on the location?? I started to think someone shot at your Kat. Then I realized it was this little guy who was the sniper. There will always be another Prowler available. |

Ed has not been on Ebay since his diaper auction went wrong.... Grubby usually wins Black Tie auctions that I can't snipe... I won this item this morning. This message has been edited by RED5 on 09-26-2005 at 11:37 PM |

Sniping works both ways. If you do not bid high enough, you don't have enough time to re-bid. If you want it badly enough, bid way higher than you are willing to pay and you will outbid the other guy by whatever increment the bidding is currently at. (Don't end a sentence with a Preposition, either). I recently won an auction by sniping and recently lost one the same way. |

sometimes I do that Ed, but what if the other bidder is thinking the same thing and you wind up winning the auction with a price that is way too high at? This message has been edited by RED5 on 09-27-2005 at 12:09 AM |

Anything I have lost to a sniper has simply been because I did not bid high enough. I hate to lose it but in the end it always comes down to who is willing to pay more. This message has been edited by SuperKat on 09-27-2005 at 06:00 AM |

I sometimes bid in the last 30 seconds to try and outbid the current high bidder. Of course the danger is (and this has happened to me several times) is that I only get one shot and if I don't bid high enough, I don't have time to enter a higher amount. When I decide to bid on something, I try to decide what my maximum is that I'm willing to pay. I've lost many auctions, but I try to stay within my budget. |

HEY REDSNIPER5 ..... YEP, I'm grubbyone. I was going to snipe the diecast with a final higher bid because I knew you or somebody else would try it, but got sidetracked. I will snipe with what I am willing to pay, and if it is good enough... Great, but if it is too low, I didn't pay too much. Congratulations.. You should be ashamed of yourself for beating a new BT owner out of a nice collectable. But... My snipe, with 6 seconds left, won my real Black Tie. I bid a WHOLE lot higher than the selling price, so I'm a happy camper. Here is another Black Tie Auction you may want to snipe.
Best, Brad Grubbs (grubbyone) |

That is the best picture I have ever seen on ebaY!! Not ashamed.....there is a very very limited amount of Black Tie stuff out there.......and I dont want you to own it all. I searched high and low at the last car show we went to looking for that Black Tie Premiere matchbox I saw on ebay a week or so ago.....they had every other color even a Blue/Black combo but no BT's......and there was a lot of vendors selling that stuff there. |
