quote: I do not compare the corvette with the Prowler. Yes we have new corvette´s. They drive better, but on the design and as a headturner they are boring. A SSR and a Prowler, that fits. |

Comparing the '06 Viper with the '06 Z06 would be a tough choice. I still think the Viper has the edge, but in my opinion the Z06 is better looking. Anything the Viper lacks in looks, it makes up for in performance and I have ALWAYS been a big Mopar fan. |

I was looking at a brand new 2006 Viper in the dealer show room last weekend..... $128,000 cdn.....Triple black car.. looking at it was nearly hypnotic... reality check made me realize that i couldn't even afford the insurance on the Viper.... The Vette is nice... but I'm a Mopar guy as well ... |

I ´m more a Ford Street Rod guy, but brand is second to me. I like the new corvette, after the InternationalAutoShowFrankfurt they had some 2006 corvettes at the hockenheim raceway. The new 6L60 transmission (6 speed automatic with tiptronic at the steering wheel) is super nice ! There was a yellow plus 500HP corvette too, but only as a shifter. I drove the 05 viper a couple times. Its a nice powerful musclecar, but I dont like that transmission. I think, with a up to date auto trans they would sell a lot more of this snakes. We have some nice new age toys in the family, I would not buy a Corvette or a Viper. Both fit not in my mind. I like the 1934 Ford 3W Coupe, a 32 Ford Roadster, my Prowler and soon a custom-SSR. |

Back on topic. I have an 01 Orange Prowler and an 04 Black SSR. They do look great together! They are both great rides. The SSR has more leg room and cargo space. However the Prowler turns more heads and gets much more thumbs up from people. I was at my local gas station last night and I had the Prowler. The cashier just about jumped out of the door to see the Prowler. He said "How come I have never seen you in this before (he has seen me in the SSR several times)". I told him it was just timing. He also said "I like this car much better than the truck. This car is the baddest!". That is a typical response to the Prowler (And to me. After all I am a pretty cool guy!!!! I have a 2000 silver Prowler (37k miles) that I will trade for a 2003 Yellow SSR (high miles ok). If it's not yellow I will have to repaint. Not that I prefer yellow, but I plan on starting a small retirement business and need the yellow. Anyone interested? That way I will still have at least one kool ride! |
