OK, more random questions.. how do you take larger speed bumps? Specifically raised sidewalks. Also, the new style driveways are not flush with the streets (at least in my area they are not) with the steep incline (5" then the driveway goes up about 4 feet over a distance of 12 ft), if anyone has this kind of driveway entrance, have you noticed the nose scraping, or not. Speed Bumps, take them "REAL SLOW" As for Sidewalk Driveway combination types I have encountered my share of those types of driveways, when I see them I go at them at an angle, never straight on. Never encountered one which prevented me from entering. Good luck... Dan G. |

If the driveway is raised you can go in at an angle with no problem. Do not turn around in the driveway and come out nose first, it probably will scrape, even at an angle. Just back out even if it is a circular driveway. I scraped mine at a buddy's house way back, like a dumb a**. |

My driveway has quite an incline so I am extra careful. The other day I had it on a rack and climbed underneath and took a look. Really disappointed. No one will ever see it... but all scraped up. |

dude, I'm lovin this place.. Those answers were exactly what I was lookin for, and then some. I forgot to ask about backin in and was goin to try it. Really glad to hear info about it. I knew the nose was low, and that is why I was so concerned. in certain area, they have some wicked speed bumps, and the raise sidewalks are great for catchin air in my blazer. I knew not to do that in a prowler, but I didn't know how slow or angled one should go over them. Thank you again for humouring a newbie here. |

Actually, I have the same kind of drive. I always back my cats out, but I don't have a problem with the mud flaps dragging when backing out.  |

I've got a fairly steep driveway and found that if I hug one side while going down slow and cut it all the way just prior to getting into the street I wont scrape the nose. The people who had the car before didn't do that so mine has scrapes as well. Phillip |

I do not know if some of the newer folks realize the 97s and 99s are almost an inch closer to the ground in front. The 2000s and newer had diff. suspension and are a little higher. |

I just measured both cars. 99 is 4 1/4 inches off the ground. The 2002 is just a hair over 4 1/2, so not very much difference. The cars are facing opposite directions but I don't think the garage floor is off that much. I thought the diffence was much greater. |

I have a 4" steep incline in a 2 foot section that leads up to my driveway. If I arrive and leave with my nose pointed towards the incline, (meaning I back out my driveway each time) NOTHING scrapes. If I go out nose first then my mudflaps scrape. If it's a back road, and I encounter a steep speedbump and can't drive around it, I"ll go over it backwards if I can and mudflaps won't scrape |

I believe the 97 is 4.6" from the asphalt to the bottom surface of the nose. What are the 2000 - 2002's? 4.7"?
