Congratulations on your first Prowler
you will never look back!!
Enjoy the ear to ear grin from all the looks
you get!!
Post some pictures
Don't worry about the bumpers
seems most look at the beauty of the car
and not what is missing

I had similar concerns about not having a front bumper since VA (I currently live in WV, but Prowler is registered in VA) requires a front tag. Does Texas have two tags? If so where to mount and how to try and get thru state inspections and stay legal becomes a concern.
I like the no front bumpers look and don't like any of the nerf type bars that have the tag attachment either.
I'm just going to wing it on inspection and see what happens, then see what the state cops have to say in this area about no front plate and bumper.

TP: Nothing to worry about. I've been driving mine in DFW now for 3 years without front bumpers and have never had anyone say a word. I keep the front plate with me behind the seat, just in case, but have never had a problem. Tami

If you are required to go through state inspections [not the same as emission testing] and are required to have a front tag visible,,,,,,,,,,,a block away from the inspection place, just use bread ties or plastic ties to temporary attach plate to front grill. Pass the test,,drive out, and remove the plate from the grill.

NO AC user fee for that tip!

Alley Cat does not even use NEW bread ties. He uses the same ones over and over. I use color coded ones and never re-use them since I want my car to stay stock.

I removed my front bumpers six years ago and I have been all over the country on POA trips. I have never had a problem. Pennsylvania requires a front bumper for inspection, but I get the kat inspected every year without it.

I doubt any peace officer of state trooper would have any clue that you took off the bumpers. And if they did they either have a Prowler or they are a car buff and would probably let you go without any problems.

Unless your in WI those troopers are out of their minds.

I have seen street rods in almost every state I have visited that do not have bumpers so although manufacturers are required to build the cars with bumpers, it appears to me that any enforcement of requiring bumbers on an individual car is usually a non issue for the majority of law enforcement officers.

Having now and before my streetrods never have had bumpers so my Prowler bumpers came off about 3 years ago and was stopped in SC for speeding and nothing was said.I would assume it will depend on person stopping you since all are different.

it seems like it is unaminous that i probably wont have any problems with johnny law if i take them off.
i think i'll go ahead and take them off. going to the bluebonnet festival this weeekend with the north texas prowler group. i'll see what insight they have on removal and re-running the turn signals.
thanks for everyone's input on this.
