I am thinking of ordering a new Hardtop for my 2001 Orange Kat. I have two ways to go, (1) Black hardtop it will match well with the Prowler Orange, plus I am thinking of getting my weekender painted black. I think the two items will accent the orange body color and the lines of the vehicle. If, I ever plan to sale either item, they will match well with any color Prowler. That way the new owners won't have to worry about painting right away and it gives me a larger buyer market. (2) Go with the Prowler Orange. Sure would appreciate some feed back. Thanks

I agree! Both colors compliment each other very well. JMO

The black would look sharp. I would tint the windows also.

I was thinking the same thing. A black top would look cool on my orange.

I'd like to see someone do a photoshop of an Orange prowler
with either a mullholland blue handtop or softtop.

I've been considering this combination but don't know
if I would like the look.

I'm going to go the other way and say that i would do the matching color. If you sell i would assume the top would go with the car. Bottom line your decision.

Kat Hunter, I'm not sure I would dig the blue top too much. But I have often thought about a silver top on an orange.

hi chief
just a little first hand info !
i've always wanted a hardtop for my orange, during the summer i went to a show and a gent had a black top on his black prowler he was kind enough to let me try it on my vehicle for the duration of the show.
personsally, i did not like it, it took away from the awesome orange color.
i polled most of the on-lookers as well as the other prowler owners, and we all agreed, it took away from beauty of the vehicle.
when norb started to sell the tops again, i immediately ordered an orange top for it, which by the way should be shipping out to me the 6th of april
just my thoughts, if you come across someone with a black top at a show etc, try it on first !!!!!
just my thoughts

sam

I have seen an black hardtop on and orange Prowler and I vote you go with orange. Gives the car more of a coupe look. If you want a black top, take off the hardtop and put the soft top up. JMO

When we were in Louisville we switched the tops around on a couple of the cars. Tried my red on a Woodward and a black on my red, etc. If you go to a big event you could try out any combination you wanted, probably. I would try it out before I spent money on a hardtop and then regretted the color choice. I don't like the black on any color except black, Woodward and Black Tie but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.

I was considering a black top for our orange kat. Tried it out at a show. In the end we purchased the matching orange instead of the black; As Rich says, you have the contrasting look with the soft top up.

orange orange orange,if you make it black you wont like the look.the weekended will not help.the only way to carry the black thru is to make it a orange tie so to speak.if you paint it black w/o out some accent on the lower body it will look like ----.

I've done quite a few hardtops now and I personally like the hardtop to match the color of the vehicle. You really want the hardtop to look like it came from the factory with the car. My opinion is that the hardtop should blend in with the vehicle, not stand out as a separate item. I know some people are trying to go for that rag top look with the black hardtop, but is is pretty difficult to make the hardtop resemble the ragtop. I am not trying to offend anyone's opinion either. To each there own, so they say. I will paint a hardtop any color anyone wishes. Just my 2 cents worth.

I agree with Norb's input ... plus ... you have a better shot at the color match to the car being dead on if Norb does it that way first ... any paint shop can paint 'black' if you desire to change it ... just a thought from a different perspective.
