A car dealer here in town has an 02 candy red, 6000 miles. They say Alice Cooper was the previous owner. Is there a way to confirm this? They are asking 38,500...

This car was on ebay last year. It was sold out of Phoenix, where old Alice lives, but was not being sold by him personally. About the only way to find out for sure is to run the vin number through Arizona DMV and see if they can tell you. Remember, his real name is something like Vincent Fournier. It probably wouldn't show up as Alice Cooper

....I almost bought the car a couple of years ago from a dealer in Phoenix.....the miles sound right....I offered $35K but it had just been sold( I think asking was $37,500.)...the title was supposed to be signed by Alice Cooper, and he was willing to meet the new buyer and sign autographs.....even if the Kat cost a couple thousand extra, it would give the new owner a story to tell everywhere he went with the car....

Wish I could help, but can't. Alice had a PT Cruiser all tricked out that he traded in on the Prowler,,from what I heard so it stands to reason that it could be a later candy red model. The cat was probably too high profile for him to be driving around in Phx without being noticed, as most of the celebs tend to drive Mercedes sedans with the limo tint windows.

I took a look at the car yesterday, it seems perfect, completly stock..The dealer seems to know the history of the car, asking 38,500, 6900 miles. I might offer 35k, need to sleep on it one more night...

....I kinda look at it this way....if the car is worth $32K, $34K, $35K....what ever market value you put on the car....how much extra is the celebrity history worth to YOU.....I really don't think the car is too high if owning Alice Coopers Kat really means something to you....I think it would be very KOOL to own such a piece.....

....next point, do you think ther Kat will appreciate faster because he owned it, probably not...although very famous in his day, he is not exactly a household conversation piece today....as I stated in an earlier post, I nearly bought the car a couple of years ago, I just thought it would be a great conversation piece to own and show...but I was warned that to maintain the "celebrity collector car" status, it would be harmful to put on many miles....OWN IT A WHILE, HAVE A BLAST, THEN MOVE IT ON.....

.................hey, you only live once, GO FOR IT !!!

I have told a few people about the car, so far no one knows who Alice Cooper is..lol.It would be a nice conversation piece tho..........I am more attracted to the car, low miles, love the color..The down side is if I buy it I will probably sell my gold which has lots of mods, hard top, grille, hitch, k&n filter, brake pads, weekender, borla exaust..I would want to keep the parts I can have painted.......How hard would that be, matching the candy?

Hi Larry- Sounds like an interesting deal. If you really like it, go for it! You deserve it! I think you would look better in Candy Red rather than Gold, anyway (JMO)
Your pal, Buddy
PS- I agree, there shouldnt be any problem in repainting your Gold accessories Candy Red.

Larry [warmncool] - BUY IT, you want it! Keep the gold for your lady to drive Our vendors need a lift at this time of year with the St. Patrick's holiday coming up,,,,,so you can buy all the mods all over again. Its just money,,not your life. Remember how much fun it is when all those boxes of mods arrive

GO 4 IT!!

Why in the world would you need two Prowlers? If you do get two, make sure they both stay stock. That is my story, I am sticking to it.

I painted bumpers and had the hardtop and side panels painted. I think I got an excellent match. Larry is right, the Candy Red looks different in different lighting conditions. I actually like it best at dusk.........it looks really deep!

The same dealer has a Viper, 96, 12k miles, 43,000. I don't know if that is a good price...
