Hello all,

Thought I would share my story.

Some might say that I've been living under a rock, because it was just 4 months ago I found out that Prowlers were a production auto. Well, I work in Los Angeles, 225 miles from my home in Fresno. In these past two months have seen a few running around L.A. and never one in Fresno, (maybe I wasn't paying attention).

Last Tuesday as I was leaving L.A. for my weekly trip back to Fresno, I passed a Classic car lot which had a gorgeous red Prowled, which was calling to me. Now I ask, how could I refuse stopping and have a look.

The salesman asked if I would like a test drive, I said yes even though I knew I couldn't afford it. I made a right turn out of the lot, made a right turn at the 1st street, stopped, called my wife, my insurance company and my bank, I then made a right turn in the ally and drove back to the shop. The salesman came out and asked if everything was ok, I said what was the price, he said 36K, I said it’s too much, he said 35K, (the Prowler has 3447 original miles) I wrote a check

AHH, but the story just starts. Now that I'm the proud new owner of a Cat, where the hell am I going to put it? I have a 1928 (stock) Chevy in my garage, Can't park that on the street, so I started making calls to everybody I knew that has a garage and no kids (lol). No luck. The salesman said he would store it at no charge for 30 days until I could work things out.

Well, to make a VERY long story short, I gave the 1928 Chevy to one of my sons to sell (he gets to keep half), however, he can't do anything for 1 more week. So here I am, a new owner who can't even go out in the garage and look at my new ride. I have to resort to looking at pic's of other peoples and reading every single post in the discussion forms. The upside is the dealer said that I could check the Kat in and out for those 30 days. When I get to L.A. this Monday, I bet you can guess where I'm going 1st.

And that is my story for being a new one week owner.

BTW bdcurtis stands for Bill & Diana Curtis

Well, sounds semi familiar, only I knew about them and lusted for one from the time it was "only" a show car until the day I spotted mine calling me on a lot too.

Welcome and congratulations!

Merry Christmas. I know you will have a Happy New Year so I need not bother with that.
Welcome to the POA. Put mud flaps on the front immmediately. Put ceramic brake pads on the front ONLY as soon as you can. Don't hit the nose of the car on a curb. The front end is about 4 feet longer than you think.
Keep it stock, too. Red is the best color for sure. You can ask almost anyone.
