I can now personally endorse the runflat goodyears.

Just ran over "something" in the road which left me with two, count 'em, 2 flats tires, both driver side. The front rim is bent slightly, but the back rim doesn't look damaged. Also, I couldnt find any foreign objects in either tire, as I was prepared with my tire repair kit and air compressor. Now it is 9pm and I'm using a flashlight. The morning light may give me more answers.

I was faced with a tough choice, wait 2 or 3 or 10 hours for a tow, or try to get the car home myself. I was only about 15 miles from home, so I said "F**K IT" and, well I'm here. Tires do not seem to be any worse for the wear.

So....has anyone ever had a bent rim fixed? I have had it done on another car I had, but it did not have chrome wheels and I have heard this is a problem when it comes to fixing them. What do the rims go for ($$$) new and/or used?

I will now go enjoy a cocktail and brace myself for the repair bill. Any suggestions or recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

I have a spare 17" silver wheel you can use if you want until you can get a new or repair your chrome wheel. I realize its not chrome and may look a little strange but it sure beats a lengthy down time.

Thanks Rich, I may take you up on that. By the way, stay off of 285E!

For what it's worth and your insurance SHOULD cover, I would NOT try to repair that rim, but instead replace it and have the rear "spun" on the balancer with the tire removed to check for trueness before putting a new tire on it. Also, be glad it wasn't worse ...

The most important thing is that it didn't cause you to have an accident and that you are okay.

My wheels are silver not chrome, but I have had two bent rims repaired. The place I used here in Pennsylvania repaired and refinished one and had one on hand and I swapped that one out. I have not had any trouble with either rim in the two years since that happened. The price then was $275.00 per rim. Here is a link to them:

thanks for the advice and the heads up on the wheel on ebay.

the seller says it fits '00-'02 prowlers, but wouldn't it be the same for my '99?

If you have your 3/ 36 warranty still in effect, your tires are covered fully no matter what happens to them.
