Mike, that just might shape up into something for those of us not able to make the Turkey Run in FL. This is and excellent location to gather from several places.

Sounds BETTER than the overly-congested Turkey Run [to me]

Dunno if it's BETTER, but an alternate really cool location is Helen, GA north of Atlanta! For anyone who hasn't been, it's like a lil German town nestled up into the mountains~plenty of eateries, driving twisty/curvy roads, and lodging; incl cabins and even a state park UNICOI (I think) which the Elf n I have stayed at before! We'd recommend doing Helen, Ga this fall! It is an absolutely beautiful place! A bit touristy but still awesome!
OOps! Forgot to mention TONS of shopping & scads o' souvenir joints, as well!

Might be a possibility for me as well, depending upon the weather. With the weather we have had this year, there is no telling what November will bring in the Smokies. Hopefully it will be only cool or cold and dry. Will post again later. Post this in the Event Discussion, also.

Helen is definitely the tourist trap! Unicoi and Vogel are near there. It isn't bad on a motorcycle since you can park in front of most of the good eating joints. It might be a bit hard to get safe parking for a group of prowlers unless you call ahead and have one of the pubs block off the spaces. As long as you can avoid the Octoberfest crowd it may not be that bad. I had the pro gears put in today. Now we just need some dry weather so I can break them in.

I like Highlands NC better than Helen GA, there are over 100 water falls in a 25 sq mile area
