I found a funny post on the SVTPERFORMANCE.COM website where a 03' Cobra SVT owner said he waxed a Prowler. (What is that 400+hp vs 253hp??) What does he expect?? Wouldn't it feel better to beat a Viper or Z06??

I traded off a 03 Cobra for my Prowler, they are 390 hp
and they are two different types of cars, Best trade I ever made! The guy in that Cobra wouldn't know what to say if he had run across Mike's 11 sec Prowler, or even some of guys that are running mid 12's The guy in the Cobra just did not get it when the wife in the Prowler was twirling her finger did he.

Silver, let's face it the guy probably is pretty young and all he can afford is a Mustang. I remember 40 years ago when that design was cool. Who da thunk they would make the same body style for 40 years. He bought a new car and found out his elderly next door neighbor has the same thing and it is 36 years old. They change the taillights every 10 years so it looks different. lol
If he wanted style and pep you would have thought he would get a Viper, something that looks a little different and actually goes fast.
They read this board. I don't ever recall going to the Mustang board. Why would you read the Prowler board unless that is what you really wanted.
Like they said at the get-go, "Either you get it or you don't"
The Mustang must be an okay car, you see thousands of them every day.

Actually if it was a 03 Cobra in that story, he could have bought a nice used Prowler for the same money. A Cobra coupe starts at $35.750 and they go up from there. A Cobra is a lot different than a Mustang GT, Engine, trans and suspension (independent rear). They are neat cars, just not the same type of car as a Prowler. Even with all the hp that the Cobra had the Prowler is still 100 times more FUN to drive. Here is a pic of the 03 Cobra I sold to buy my Prowler

With the Cobra you have to get out there and flex its muscles for the car to be impressive, and my wife hated when I did that. With the Prowler I dont have to flex anything, just get out there and drive. The Prowler does all the rest.

Barry, it is still a F O R D. lol
I was just making fun of them since they posted that we are in our own little world over here on the POA. Hopefully someone will read it and post it over there to get them fired up.
Seriously, the Mustangs look basically the same 40 years later. Not a bad car, but nothing special.

I already did a post a reply over there and even posted pic's of the Cobra and the Prowler that replaced it. And yes we are in our own little world over here, whats wrong with that! Once you drive a Prowler you know how totally different this car is compared to any factory car EVER built. I am not brand loyal, I like some cars from almost every mfg. Cobras were built for people that want to simply go fast. Prowlers were built for people that wanted a car that was simply out of the ordinary. I dont think Chrysler had any idea of the cult this car would start. No other limited production car has had the following that the Prowler has, it does not just look different it drives different and feels different. Before someone flames me that Mustang has a larger following, I realize this but look how many Mustangs have been built versus how few Prowlers have been built. Prowler owners seem to know more about their cars and the history behind them than any other group. I had my car out to 2 shows this weekend plus I cruised around for a couple of hours Sunday, I have only had this car for 2 months and it still feels like I bought it yesterday.

Barry, I have had mine for 5 1/2 years and it still feels like yesterday. People driving past the house look to see if the garage doors are open to catch a glimpse.
I know the Cobra is fast, but bragging about beating a Prowler with a Cobra is like a Prowler bragging about beating a PT Cruiser.

How about some real contenders.

JD aka Silver Bullet embarrasing Paxtons 460 rwhp Cobra Mustang

JD and I can do some damage to most of these mustangs around my area.

Light to light they will not be able to hang with us.

This has been proven and not a myth..

All things aside,
I think the 05 Mustang design is beautiful! Convertible is out in Spring 05 too.

Also the Convertible roadster Pontiac Solstice will be out next year....a HOT car with a base sticker of approx $20K!!! You may see tons of those on the road at that price. A hot deal IMO...even is there's only a 4 cyl. but you know the engine will be upgraded the next year...

Ed, I know what you mean as people driving by will look and a lot of times drive by a second time real slow, and about a week ago a couple of boys on bicycles kept riding by and looking in the garage as I was washing my wifes car. they were about 7 or 8 years old. on one of there rides up to look again I told them that they can walk in the garage and look, you would think I was giving them money or something.
Also I never said that the Prowlers could not be made to take on cars like the Cobra, just that was not its origional intent and yes the guy on The SVT site is a idiot for bragging that he beat a Prowler, my Cobra was box stock and ran 12.9 to 13.25 but that was it was built to do. As dpena said there are several Prowlers on this site Faster than that. For those that dont know 03 & 04 Cobras come with a supercharger from the factory and the whine of the blower IS the best part of the car. The best part of the Prowler is just DRIVING it.
