Just wondering if anyone here is or was insured with Hagerty Insurance? Anyone have claims with them in the past? Their quote is really cheap. Thanks for your answers. |

just got insured for agreed value of $40k three weeks ago. $800 per year. Saved over $300 from other ins company. No claims so can't answer that. |

We use Grundy (now owned by Chubb). All the cars are covered under their collector policy. They have $00 deductable and it costs right around $300 per car, per year. ------------------ |

Mike - what are the restrictions on the Gundy collector car insurance? Can there be any pleasure driving, or must all the miles be car show related, etc. etc. |

I was going to insure thru Hagerty for an agreed value of $150K. Would have had 3K mile limit per year. They agreed to the value, but wanted $2K a year, and I wasn't ready to pay that. I've heard they are good tho. I'll have to look into Grundy. (Or Chubb.) |

They are just the brokers and yes I have used them. Never had a claim but the policies are issued through other agencies. I use Allstate and pay around 600 \ yr w\o limitation. I AM NEW TO THIS SITE. CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO START\POST A NEW MESSAGE, THANKS, PETE |

I bought hagerty a few months ago due to being able to get an agreed value ( there is a large range in prices on prowlers and wanted my value in case it was wrecked or stolen), was less than my regular auto insurance but I do not drive the prowler but maybe 1 day a week ------------------ |

My main concern was Haggerty or Grundy denying a claim if they felt the Prowler was driven outside of their restrictive guidelines. I wanted to be able to drive to the store if I needed to, pick up my kids (well one at a time!) from school, or other "normal" activities forbidden by both companies. I have AllState too and it is almost the same as my '02 Sebring Ltd. to insure. For the freedom I went with Allstate and don't worry about what is covered and what isn't. |

Boy this is an eye opening question. I have four cars, a motorcycle, two houses and a boat with Allstate. I also have an umbrella policy for additional liability coverage over all the policies. The premium portion for the Prowler is $360 a year. The big question is what will Allstate pay me if the Prowler is stolen or totalled?? I have the pink slip so the bank is not the problem. I have over $45K in the car but would not expect that. I know I have full coverage in an accident and can drive it any time, any where, even up to 50 miles into Mexico. I wonder what Allstate would consider the value of the Prowler is. |

I had a claim once for 2580.00 and was told since my estimate was over 2500.00 they would have to get adjuster to look at it.So I ask if it had been 2500.00 what happens and was told they would just send check so guess what it became 2500.00 and they mailed a check.Since that time I have compared prices and found Grundy to be far less,example 32 ford (glass)streetrod valued at $30,000.00 was $256.00 per year for everthing and no ded.a $200.00 per year saving.So it pays to shop prices. |

XP - a call to your insurance agent can answer the question what would they give you if stolen or totalled. It's not often an insurance company will urge, beg, and pleade for you to get coverage elsewhere, when you've been with them for over 15 years with no claims on any of your vehicles or house. My agent understands the value of my car from a rarity/collector standpoint and stated that if something were to happen, he is out of the picture. It would be between me and state farm's underwriters. I have no doubt it will end up in a courtroom. |

being in the collision business,if you dont drive much,i would say go w/grundy,but remember its pleasure only.an example,youre in home depots parking lot,parked your car, gets hit and nobody sees it.and they take off,you call grundy w/claim,where was your car when hit,home depot park lot,grundy,thats not pleasure no pay.either that or you could also lie about location.there policies are very specific about pleasure only. ------------------ |

Bob says he's heard of them. Relatively new company that is dedicated to the collector car business. We have mine insured withe AAA along with everything else. |

Just want to clarify, Mike's Grundy policy has no restrictions on driving it at all, any time any where no mileage limits. He sets the insured value with no deductible. We do have a lot of different policies with them, business and personal. |
