Since posting a couple of pics in the "Hart Top" discussion I got asked to post a few more pictures which I'll do right here !

We took them on Sunday at an abandoned gas station just around the corner here in 'the middle of nowhere' what we call it !

Dustis...you already know black cars are the hardest to photograph of any color out there....I like your backgrounds....I played with a couple of your shots...tightened them up a bit, etc etc.....try to find a red barn, or a building with color, or even just stop in a neighborhood and get some flowers in the shot....black/green/gray doesn't do your car justice.....

DUSTIS....the best places for foto shoots seem to be in the oldest, most run down parts of town....where buildings have been torn down etc etc.....the large white columns I use in pix often are actually a cemetary plot.....I didn't know there was a family buried there for years.....the painted walls I use in many pix are actually opposite sides of an old downtown furniture store(shoot one side in the morning and the other in the afternoon)....these spots are everywhere, just keep an eye open while Kattin' around ....one of my favorites I just found recently....I was going thru a neighborhood I travel quite often and it just hit me, HERE IS A SPOT...it was tight shooting to eliminate houses and mailboxes etc etc....but it worked.....this pix was shot from one persons front yard into two other yards on a sharp curve in the street...houses on both sides, mailboxes etc etc...picked my angles and included the flowers...your black Kat would look great in a similar position.....

...as BADA$$ as your Kat looks, I would go for the industrial settings, big city stuff, tough, hard, dirty, gritty backgrounds, but also with something to give a little color....wildflowers, old COKE/beer signs....shoot the car at very close range....hey,I am not trying to be a critic, I am certainly not a real photographer, it is just a hobby of mine and I am learning alot, but digital makes it so easy....

I just happened to have a camera with me and saw this spot

Tangled-

Good pointers on backgrounds. You, Geno & CJ have some great shots.

I need to get the creative side of my bird-sized brain working to find some good backgrounds. I probably just need to be more aware of my surroundings.

Dustis, they really look great. I was wondering is that a pinstrip on yours or is is some of the Chrome tubing they use around doors? If so, what did you do along the door part to make it look the same?

Thanks PAH's !
Yes, the "pinstripes" are in fact door edge molding but since they won't work on the doors I had to come up with something else to match, which is similar and called 'wheel weld molding' - hope that helps !

Lets see shimmers on both cats, transmission cooler covers on both, custom side panels on the black, $5 dollar chrome grille treatment on both (you only used half the amount) and a Hardtop on the black and custom exhaust tips on both. Your wasting no time dude. Way too go.

Dusti - I see Rich is right,,,you used chrome molding on every other grill vane. Doesn't matter,,,still $10 user fee per car is due, lol.

Looking good

I have to agree that background is important. You wouldn't think so, but it really is. It kind of reminds me of writing, sometimes you need commas, periods and even spaces, so you know where to slow down, stop and even start a new thought. hmmm.

but then again ed on the other hand those commas periods and such are dictating to the reader exactly what the writer is trying to relate to them the reader when in fact the reader may want to read something entirely different out of the same sentence than what the writer intended when he/she originally wrote that same prose so then we are faced with the dilemna of whether to intrepret it as written or in fact rewrite our own opinion of what the original statement may or may not have been based upon the manner in which it is intrepeted by the person reading it if in fact that person is reading it as it may in point of fact be being read to that person perhaps by another person maybe someone they went to high school with or someone one of their kids or parents went to school with or maybe even someone they work with but hopefully if they read it here then at least they have a prowler or know someone who has a prowler or at least know what a prowler is unless of course their idea of a prowler is like larry's which would be larry salzman in this case which should not be confused with all the other larrys on this board and that would be that a prowler is in his garage which would imply a burglar and someone unwanted which of course is what this is all about isnt it? Unwanted punctuation.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
