Hey, After seeing this car forever, and viewing the many posts here, I think I'm ready. For the money, I just don't beleive there is a nicer better looking vehicle out there. So my question for discussion is this ... What do I buy? I know of a 2001 Orange with under 1000 miles I can get for 35K that is in my home state of Florida (no shipping required). But the Candy is sooo pretty too. A POA member had one on sale here a bit ago for 35K with under 3,000 miles (but in Cali). And there's a candy on Ebay now that will probably go for 34 with 5,000 miles on it from Bigotire in Colorado. OK - you guys are the experts. I got the $$$ - give me your opinions and tell me what to do. Thanks, |

TFischer is right, there are plenty of low mileage Prowlers out there for sale just pick the color you like the most and you will never regret it. They are even more fun to drive than to look at. Barry This message has been edited by bbcar on 08-22-2004 at 01:31 PM |

Randy, In my opinion I think Kees did well for himself. I feel that having CJ check the car out for him instead of waiting for a deal on Ebay was GREAT. I believe some people have had good luck on Ebay but I have heard several horror stories first hand too. I had good luck with www.autotrader.com Just remember that the cat that you choose may not be right around the corner from you. I only had to travel just over a 100 miles for mine. Whatever color cat you choose...good luck to you! Be ready for the never ending smileswhen you're behind the wheel. Brian |

Thanks for the responses so far - keep them coming. I don't HAVE TO get the car this minute, I can wait a few months, I'm just so anxious to drive one and have it parked in my garage, and if I go with the candy red, there were only 300 made, so any one for sale I think deserves consideration. So IF I do go to buy like this one out in colorado springs, any ideas how I can make sure it's in good shape? I assume any car with 5K miles or less should be in good condition. I can wait if it's worth it, but for say $34,000 for one with around 5,000 miles, how much better price can you really get in say the next 6 months. (cause I won't wait longer than that Randy. |

Randy, As I can see the reserve has not been met and it is Sounds like a very good "getting to know the car" drive home. Best regards, Kees This message has been edited by kees on 08-22-2004 at 03:11 PM |

Kees, Sounds like a good idea, might just do that. I have one SLIGHT problem the seller might not like on that part though ... I'm stuck in Egypt working right now, and won't be home for roughly 2 weeks (anyone want to trade a pyramid for their prowler? - lol). Yes - I'm watching the price closely - and well .... if it stays at that number, I'll be a happy new member of the Prowler club :D. Randy |

You can see if an owner/member local to the sale will check out the car for you. Prices should also drop with the onset of winter, as convertibles are a little harder to sell when all you have is top up weather. I haven't been to any links, but if the one you have your eyes on doesn't sell thru the ad, you still have time to contact them and make a deal. I wouldn't rush into a Prowler purchase just cause there is 2 hrs left on the auction. JMO. This message has been edited by idive on 08-22-2004 at 04:27 PM |

Get the color you want..."Buy cheap..buy twice"...I love the Candy and the Orange. Orange is by far my favorite color. Do you like Black and Yellow? It's a great color combo but it must be disclosed that the car does throw belts on a WAY TOO regular basis. |

Prices will be going down, PROBABLY, when the weather gets cooler. Pick the best 4 or 5 colors or try to rule out 4 or 5 colors that you don't particularly care for and start looking at anything that sounds good. When you narrow it down, ask if there is anyone on the POA that is close by that will go look at it for you. They probably will if they see your request. If you take your time, you can find something that you will be really happy with. If you find a deal you like, go for it. Don't lose out on what you really want over $ 500 or $ 1000. Save some money for the mods. lol.. |

OK it's almost official. I've made an offer to buy the Candy prowler from BigOtire n Ebay for $33,200. I feel like it is a very good price for the car and even if I would have waited 6 months, maybe I could find for what? $500 less?? Thanks for all your help, and I hope to see everyone soon in my new RIDE. I'll make a new post, but now would like to know if there are any POA members close to Colorado Springs, Colorado that can be pursuaded to look and check out the prowler before I have it shipped to Florida. Also, I found enclosed transportation from DAS for $1100. Replies appreciated, |
